Think it's the bearings? The noise is extremely hard to notice, but I pick up on it every time because I'm the one obsessed with the car.

No no... I was hoping to set up a joke with humfrz. Guess it backfired.

I'm sure it's fine, really. Sooorrrryyy...

edit: Wheel bearings don't make a high-pitched noise. They more growl when they're gone. If you've ever driven on cupped tires it sounds very similar.

Do you think you can record it, or is it too subtle?

Now, see what you did, there Ultramaroon ........

@Mattstermh like @Ultramaroon says, a bad wheel bearing will usually "growl" if they are bad. You can usually make a bad wheel bearing make noise by driving down the center of a road at around 30 mph and turn the wheel back and forth so the car moves from one side of the road to the other.

But my money is still on the front differential, most likely a left spider gear bushing. However, I'll ask @Ultramaroon elaborate on that.

Had the same exact issue on my Lexus IS300. Popped the hood open and it turns out that it was a bad serpentine belt. Do you notice the noise more when the A/C is on? If so it's definitely the serpentine belt or a loose tensioner.
