If you have a NAPA in your town you might be able to find a comparable replacement there.

I thought you were wrong, but your total commitment to the non-existance of DC amp clamps was convincing enough to force me to do a google search. I was 100% prepared to write the same post you just made, but in the opposite direction.

When it comes to DC, the only amp meter I've ever used myself was a battery load tester. I accidentally beat the crap out of my own then-nearly-new MOPAR battery when I used it, but it still outlasted any other OEM battery I've ever had.

Yeah i actually called around yesterday and probably could have had one. But i decided to be patient since BatteryMart got back to me last night (Sunday) and I see that they have already shipped the 2nd one out. So a couple of more days and I will be good to go.

I had a HUGE scare today. I was about 100 miles from home and noticed my car didn't have it's usual kick ass power. When I stepped on the gas the meter seemed to work properly. I just had no power. So I turned the ESC off and floored it. It felt about the same. So I floored it again and turned on the ESC with the petal still to the floor. No difference! OH CRAAAAP. So I turned it off and drove home thinking what a slug this car is without it.
Well, yesterday I just happened to disconnect the big power cable to check the voltage, so that's a good place to start. Checked that out. Nope everything's fine. So I turned on the ESC and the key and engaged the switch (no Procede) and listened. It sounded like the compressor was bound up. OH shit! So I'm thinking, maybe (hopefully) the air filter got sucked into it or something. Otherwise I'll have to go without the ESC for at least 2 weeks while it goes to fukn Canada and back. That's gonna suck BAD.
So before I pull the compressor off I figured I should check ALL the wiring. Checked the three cables going to the motor and ONE WAS DISCONNECTED. You would not believe how happy that made me to see that!
I reconnected it and taped the inline connectors together and went for a test drive. Unbelievable... It was like the very first time.

I love my ESC. I would get rid of the car if I couldn't have it.
Either that or get a turbo and blow it up!

I've been enjoying my ESC for over a year - Actually almost 1.5 years now. I'm on the 1.5 kit and no proceed. Love the response and power. I mention this because I also turned it off the other day and it's like having pancakes without syrup - or syrup without pancakes..

I did have a weird thing happen - when I turned it off - I did it a couple times and somehow the ABS light came on and stayed on .
I turned the car off and then it went away. Hasn't come back. Could the ESC being turned on and off trigger this? Coincidence?

Glad to hear that you're running smooth. The Phantom kit and this car do indeed feel M.F.E.O.

I don't think the ABS light coming up is Phantom related as with the non-PROcede installations the ESC isn't interacting with the car's ECU at all. However if you didn't change your tune file to match the stock (non-forced) induction you were now running, there could be an issue. Nothing major if you shortly afterwards went back to running the ESC back on.

Coincidence in my opinion.

I'm actually not super impressed by it power wise. It just leaves me wanting more. I will agree when you turn it off and floor it your like wow this engine sucks without it.

The power delivery is also very inconsistent varying alot in weather. Granted I'm in hot FL. Seems like unless I'm under 4k I never even really feel it kick in.

That's weird that you are saying it's inconsistent because I don't feel that way. What's your setup again?

The power bug bites, and siphons all the monies.

Hot, humid weather affects all ICE engines negatively. When my car was N/A I could also feel a difference in power when the weather was either hot or cold. The ESC has not changed this fact, just amplified it. Switching to e85 significantly decreased this effect, but I feel it is probably still present at maximum engine outputs.

Also keep in mind Max WHP gained is about 40-50whp over stock which is a solid gain, and totally appropriate for the cost of the kit (there are some headers that cost nearly that much alone).

Max Torque on the other hand can be anywhere from +60-80 at the wheels right in "the dip" area at around 3400 RPM. This holds strong till about 6000 RPM. The Phantom kit is about making the car a lot more fun on the street (in the RPM ranges where people spend most of their time driving) over making a lot of power at redline.

Compare, same shop (church auto), same dyno (dynapack), same day (8/30/15), same operators - 85 Degrees 70% Humidity. We lost power to the weather on this day (maybe 5-10 whp & 5-7 tq, but still a good basis for discussion.

CA91 w/ OFT tune and Catback Exhaust - Look at that torque dip...

OFT Tune - Phantom ESC 1.0 kit on CA91 w/CBE - Torque curve is flat as a board.

OFT Tune - Phantom ESC 2.0 kit on e85 w/UEL+OP+FP+CBE... my car is an absolute riot to drive.

Well, if you are ready to move on to a conventional SC or Turbo setup...and you want to sell your ESC system. Let me know.

And, yes i am being serious. I would love to have a newer system on my BRZ, and let my buddy FI his Miata on my older ESC system.

I felt this same thing. It seemed to vary rather substantially based on weather.
