A Genesis costs around the same as an FRS but with the gen (on paper &#128580 u get more hp and more bells and whistles, they also have volume control etc on the steering lol, how noob is that when you're building a racecar. Rental companies will go for cars that have more options for the customer at a lower price than a say a Toyota, but you can't really compare a Toyota, Suzuki, Subaru, Honda to a Hyundai or Kia. Hyundai Kia are just copying them, they are slightly better than Chinese copies for sure but still a copy( like everything Korean) and they will forever be playing the catch up game

Unfortunately in the US/American "sports cars" market, most people are only concerned about big HP figures, 1/4 mile times, and how large the engine is. Sure you may have a 500hp Charger, but that thing is almost 5000lbs, looks and feels like it takes up the whole width of a single lane, and the only thing it does "well" pin your ass to the seat when you mash the throttle. That is the general market out there...

Now, with people who are somewhat into cars (not enthusiasts), they'll go, why the hell is this thing so underpowered and "slow" because all they have to base it on are the brostangs, chargers, camaros. The only "fun" is mashing the pedal in a straight line. That's why.

And if you are an enthusiast, and then complain about how "underpowered" it is, you're completely missing the point of the toyobaruion. Driving enjoyment and fun is all about "feels" and not only about mashing the pedal in a straight line. Can it have more power? Sure can, but then you're hitting the 35k+ mark in terms of pricing, then the same people you want to appease by putting more power in it, will now bitch about how "expensive" it is.

This is my first car, and I can tell you after driving my parents cars and my brothers v6 Genesis that I absolutely hate driving anything but my BRZ(so far) I just don't get the same feeling from driving anything else, this car responds to everything I want it to do and is extremely fun to drive in twisty roads. The other cars I've driven(granted, not too many) just feel sluggish and I don't have fun.

And it would be even better with manual steering and a more inspired engine.

Great little car though!
