If you try to to compare the car to used cars in the same price range it will come up lacking because you can get a TON of car for 20k. What you end up getting is a newer car that has a warranty over cars that are faster or will handle better.

What I have seen by reading this forum is that kids expect a new car to be perfect. It is their first new car, and they expect great things from it. What they don't realize is that this car is insanely cheap for what it is. This isn't Subaru or Toyota's economy car with go-fast bits thrown in, this is a sports car that is built in low numbers. The twins don't have economies of scale working for them like an STI does.

This is my first car, and I can tell you after driving my parents cars and my brothers v6 Genesis that I absolutely hate driving anything but my BRZ(so far) I just don't get the same feeling from driving anything else, this car responds to everything I want it to do and is extremely fun to drive in twisty roads. The other cars I've driven(granted, not too many) just feel sluggish and I don't have fun.

It would be interesting to see if the whiners are mostly liberal. The conservatives don't whine because they knew EXACTLY what they were buying and are taking responsibility for their choice.

I love my car, the way it drives and handles, the body design and curves but have to disagree with you there. I know they have to cheap out on things to make a sportscar at this price point but the build quality is decent I would say and not excellent. To name a few:

Paint is thin
Interior panels scratches easily
Engine crickets

I know it's not a luxury car but it's 2016 and I think these things should be standard fix. Don't get me wrong, I don't go around whining to everyone I talk to about it, just whenever someone asks "what don't you like about it?".
