why do some people whine?

I don't get why some people whine about this car, it has 200hp on 1200 kgs of weight, from what I've experienced it's more fun to drive than a Porsche, it's maneuverable, it's easily moded, it's has excellent build quality, one of the best re sale values for "racecar" and is one sexy mofo (don't tell me you don't notice people looking at it and little kids waving at u), I've seen slightly moded versions take on Porsches and bmw's on the track so what the hell is the issue? Is it because in a straight line you lose to mustangs? So what? Beat them when you get to the corners.

I love my gt86, I've never been so at one with a car and I've owned around 10, half of them fall into "racecar" category and this is the most fun.

It's a perfect design, the know how and experience of 2 major auto makers went into its design and engine and left stock it's perfect as it is with regards to hp ,balance and weight.

The end...

okay time to read your post

Edit: okay done reading. I agree with you that these are great cars, but they are not the best. The dollar to car ratio is amazing with these cars. What I mean by that is we get a lot of car for a low price, however there are better cars out there but not all of us have or want to spend 75k+ on a car. I must say one of my favorite things about these cars is the fact there are so many aftermarket options haha. I love that I can turn my car into exactly what I want from a car.... granted it is costing me a small fortune haha

Not saying the 86 isn't fun but you drove the wrong Porsche.

LOL this is the car I learned to drive stick on (not my photo I don't have any photos of it anymore :( it was also my dads car before he sold it) I must say a 1971 911T is very similar to the FRS. It has a stiff chassis and suspension and a low HP output but in the bends it was a ton of fun to throw around. I would call them almost equals but the Porsche won me over with all the sounds and smells and just the simplicity of it.

that's because people get so caught up in HP numbers, 1/4 mile times, and the word TURBO.

They forget that sometimes things can be fun without those.

Don't get me wrong the Porsche is an amazing car, but it's so computerized it takes the fun out of driving, you have sensors and a computer doing most of the work, while the gt86 is the total opposite, it's so simple, you're so in control of everything that goes on. Most Porsche owners keep them hidden away and take them out on special occasions, a lot of us use the 86 as a DD because it's as cheap as a brand new Camry. I've driven the 911 turbo and the gt3, so, so ridiculously powerful and in the back of my mind I was scared to death of hitting it ( coz it wasn't mine :))

You're whining right now...

I have a coworker that got a sparkling new 'Vette last summer. To listen to him whine about it you would think it was an old Yugo.
The point is that some will whine no matter what they have. It is human nature and that will never change.
I could not possibly care less if they whine and the only time I get riled up is when they try to tell me I should be whining as well and am wrong for not doing so. Otherwise I just smile, nod and walk away.

New high end Porches are built to try and kill people, its just what they do and they seem to be getting good at it

I agree, I don't know about the Porsche part because I've never driven one. This car is pretty mean for what its built for and from what I see on youtube , some of the blown versions are untouchable, and even a little un-drivable. One guy could only blip his throttle after a blower went in, else the car was all over the road.

But in the realm of huge hp numbers like we see today, I guess some don't consider weight and balance, only huge hp numbers. You can only do so much with a 500hp car and even like I said, the FRS I saw on the video was 300 and he was having to baby it. Drivability comes into question when you clocking huge HP numbers. The car now has control of you not the other way around
