What do you mean by "pointless?" Look, the sad truth is automatics are dumbing down the population. They are the gateway to driverless cars. I feel pity for people that drive automatics. They will never really appreciate that pure, connected feeling of actually driving a car.

Back to the original question the answer is no.... look on youtube how manuals work and you will understand why.. There is no stopping the wear between the parts
