Unless it's an extended warranty. You can skip reading the fine print by just not buying it.

Is yours a 13? I have already gone past your mileage with my 14 and have not had an issue yet but it is such a common problem on here I think it is just a matter of time (unless they changed something for the14 MY).
Yeah my trans is making a noise upon clutch release and me and a few buddies are pretty sure it's the throwout bearing so I guess I'll have to take a look (hopefully it's not a bearing inside the tranny). Mine is mostly because I believe the supercharger/aftmrkt clutch are putting a bit too much stress on the bearing (It did not like the 6hr drive from Toronto back to my place). Guess I'll take OP's experience as a warning and get that fixed as soon as I take it out of storage next spring.

You need to hit up them cougars, they might leave you the car in their wills that and their savings, which by the sound of it are quite large

Yes..I guess it was all heated up from the 100 mile drive home and the clutch not releasing

The clutch wear surface is a wear item, which one could wear out by slipping or riding the clutch. But I have had Toyota clutches last 160M and the to bearing was fine. To have a bearing fail at 63M is not normal--which is why they are paying for the parts I suppose

I know this isn't a Ferrari, but with those the parts are balanced and replaced as a unit

CLUTCHES AND BEARINGS SHOULD LAST FOR YEARS. DRIVING HABITS ARE TO BLAME.
SITTING AT A LIGHT WITH YOUR CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED WILL KILL THE BEARING.
NEUTRAL PEOPLE.... ITS A BEAUTIFUL THING!

Hey @riironman did you have any tell tell signs of the throwout bearing was going bad? Such as; cold start ups was there a rattling noise that went away by engaging the clutch?

Are there any failure modes of an auto tranny that a dealership could deny coverage for? Seems like maybe an advantage to getting an auto.
