I'd love to get a 5.10 final drive for my auto.

At 3rd gear and above, the changes between gearing, with the same final drive on each transmission, is very apparent IMO. The spacing between each gear is more economy on the A/T for sure

Can you please list what you had to order in order to get this all done, for example:
- Gear
- Seal kit
- Bearing kit
- Shim kit

I am not the expert on this, but I would say Gear and Shim kit is a must. Depending on the age and condition of your dif you may need other parts. Just ask Weir or your mechanic what else you need.

Edit: I see you are from Europe, so order the Gear and Shim kit from Weir, you can get the rest from local Toyota/Subaru dealers if needed. Good luck. 4.88 is so awesome.

Does it feel like a stronger pull in each gear? Or is it just a quicker revver?

Just an update here. I talked to the second shop today and they said "Ya it's pretty fucked up. I'm not sure what they were doing but your gears were cut and everything looks all screwy."

I'm having them take pictures and document it all. Tomorrow it's being sent off to Weir Performance to be rebuilt.

I have many other mods, but I would say both. It revs faster and also pulls better. Especially on lower gears. It certainly accelerate faster on highway and you dont need to downshift so often but if you did, than it is something new.

Jesus Christ, Whats the name of the shop?

I hope your litigation goes well, they should at the very least pay for labor cost and damages i.e. a new final drive from weir

Update:

The shop is not refuting my dispute of the initial install charge. However they are refusing to pay for the parts they Fubar'd. When I told them I would take them to court over it, they called my "bluff" and said "if it comes to that, then fine."

Little do they know it's not a bluff!

Consequently I have spoken with my corporate attorney who has agreed to represent me in this case. I have received my first inspection report back from a local shop here (the diff is on its way to Weir Performance at the moment). The 2nd local shop I took it to basically said they installed was super fucked up. They would also be a witness for my side of the case in court.

Here is what they wrote on their report: (sorry for the all caps)

REMOVE REAR DIFFERENTIAL AND INSPECT
CUSTOMER'S COMPLAINT WAS OF A NOISE COMING

FROM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL. THE DIFFERENTIAL HAD

BEEN PREVIOUSLY WORKED ON AND CANNOT GET THE

ORIGINAL SHOP TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. AFTER

CONFIRMATION THAT THE NOISE WAS IN FACT COMING

FORM THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL, WE REMOVED THE

DIFFERENTIAL FOR INSPECTION. AFTER REMOVAL WE

DISASSEMBLED IT AND FOUND SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO

THE RING GEAR, RING GEAR PINION, AND BEARINGS. WE

FOUND THAT THE BACKLASH ON THE DIFFERENTIAL

WAS SEVERELY OUT OF SPECIFICATION. THE RING

GEAR/PINION WEAR PATTERNS WEREN'T EVEN CLOSE TO

BEING IN SPECIFICATION. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION

WE FOUND THAT THE RING GEAR PINION HAD BEEN

EXTENSIVELY MODIFIED FOR NO KNOWN REASON. IT

WAS MODIFIED BY CUTTING THE END OF THE PINION.

THIS MEANS THAT THE RING GEAR AND PINION CAN NO

LONGER MESH TOGETHER. ALSO FOUND THAT THE

PINION WAS MAKING CONTACT WITH THE DIFFERENTIAL

CARRIER. THIS WAS ALL CAUSED BY IMPROPER SET UP

OF THE DIFFERENTIAL. THE PINION SET TOO DEEP INTO

THE DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING WHICH IS WHAT MADE

CONTACT WITH THE CARRIER. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN

PREVENTED BY RESETTING THE PINION. IMPROPER

SHIMS WERE ALSO USED IN THE INSTALLATION.

WITH THE DAMAGE FOUND IN THE CARRIER, THERE IS

NO CORRECTION OTHER THAT COMPLETELY

REBUILDING THE DIFFERENTIAL WHICH WILL NEED A

NEW RING GEAR AND PINION SET, NEW BEARING SET,

SEALER, FLUID, AND SHIM KIT.

Good news is I don't see how I could lose this case. In fact we expect them to settle once they realize I'm not bluffing with taking them to court.

So I am bummed I am still without a car (being repaired...) however... I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little excited about my first court/legal system experience. Especially since I am on the good side of this.
