Maybe it's time to start a "good dealership" thread? I'll say right now I got mine today at Desert Scion in Las Vegas for MSRP. No muss, no fuss, and they never once attempted to add stuff to my car. Also didn't drill the bumper for the front plate, per my request. Only minimal "protection plan" sales pressure from the finance guy. Overall, highly recommended; and as of 4:00 today, they had an Asphalt one on the showroom floor available for immediate purchase.

I don't want this car (FR-S & BRZ) to break joy/smile of any members, cuz of dealers marking up the price tag.

I'm pretty sure there are some ppl that want leather seats & all the cool gizmos, but that doesn't mean they can add em to all of em. IF I was a dealer, I'll keep all of em in stock form, except for one. I'll make one for show & have leather & other gizmos. If some customer wants it, tell em they can buy that show car OR other stock one & add it. Might take few days to install it, but I'm pretty sure they can wait. If they take the show car, just place it w ONE stock one & make it show car. If I only have only one, I'll keep it stock & tell em bout the other options. It's better to move the car out of lot than keeping it in the lot.

...but again, I'm not a car dealer or seller, so I'm pretty sure there's a con to my idea
can't do just one it breaks pure price rules.

How is that ? Pure price does not exclude you from adding options, rather states the price must be the same for like vehicle. Pure price allows you to add dealer add-ons, so where is the rub?

Im not a saleman but I bet you're wrong.

As long as when you advertise you specifically states that the showroom model has additional options and will cost Y, other units will be at stock and cost X. In other words, full disclosure and you sell to everybody with that exact pricing. You buy showroom car you pay Y, you buy others you buy X unless you want to add options, here are the pricing for the options.

Price adjustments have to be the same for like vehicle.

Btw why would break the pure pricing? If you tell them that car is for "show", so it's not pure price. Option accessories can be added after the msrp & other crap.

But I stand to be corrected

Is not that is violates the rule, rather Management has decided twist the rule so that ALL cars come with leather and that is thier pure price model, which cannot be negioated, hence you are stuck with the BS add-ons.

MrFRsLa...I know you can't answer here, but I hope you are looking for a new home.

I don't no about the idea for the "show only car" but sense they are all mono spec and priced that way it has to apply across the board.

What if one car has bespoke and one doesn't?

I thought pure price just meant the advertised price is the price for everyone but different cars have different options (like whiteout with its surcharge). I don't think that would break any rules?

Mono spec without any options. With options, price is different. Am I wrong?

Cuz if that's the case, just say like your sig, msrp + $3k. That's $27.5k... If I order online & add all the options in this car can. Ship it to your dealer, you gotta sell it $27.5k. I might have BBK & other expensive option parts to this car.

Again, showroom car can be msrp + all the gizmos price tag. As long as you inform the buyer... Am I wrong?

It's covered by Bubba's Upolstery Barn, the ones who originally sewed them together for $200.
