Yes, you will need the kit + ecutek license + tune + cable (which you could maybe borrow)

Edit: looks like moto-east includes a tune with their kit. But you'll still need a license and cable.

@moto-mike, I've got everything installed and flashed your first tune! I've emailed you back yesterday with a few logs, hopefully you saw them!

A little update for folks running these kits with FI and bigger injectors. We've identified an issue with the DW700 pigtails that everyone has been running, and the pins have been a little short on some. So if you've had issues with intermittent injector codes, that is almost certainly the issue. DW identified this problem apparently shortly before we did, and they already have the adapters ready to go. We have a few dozen here to support those that have bought injectors from us, we'll mail them out free of charge if you've had the issues (until we run out). Otherwise please contact deatschwerks if you have this problem and they will get them out to you. We made the announcement on FB last week but we understand not everyone gets that.

With our flex fuel tune you can select the VSC button to sport, and that will trigger a "learning mode" where both PI and DI will fire at low loads/rpms. Once you see the ECA stop moving you know that the fuel has pretty much fully circulated. Then you are good to go. We are also going to probably implement this so the first 120 seconds of the car being on it does this too. But we're waiting on EcuTek to fix a bug we found. Should be done shortly. Then you only would trigger the mode if you're not restarting the car or if it needs more time.
Need some help regarding this... I have performed a couple of fill ups with different fuel mixture now and its mostly very slow with updating the Ethanol content.

When doing EcuTek logging, PI and DI does not seem to be affected on idle when pressing "VSC Button". Only one of the lines seems to be used. When the engine is cold and i start it, then i do see that both lines are used until it revs down. when the engine is warm then i can't see that it uses both lines at engine start.

I have noticed that PI and DI seems to be used almost the same amount when cruising at 2500rpm. Once i go up to somewhere around 3000 RPM then it seems to only use one of the lines.

So, i hope that someone can help me with which method is the correct one to apply when switching between gas/ethanol? Is it the VSC button or is it cruising along at around 2500 RPMs until the ethanol reading is stable?

Thanks!

We need to update the post with that info. You'll want to go to mode 2 on your map, then select the TC FULLY off. That will temporarily trip the CEL light so you can see it is active. Give it a go.

Excellent!

So, next question then... How do I select mode without "RaceROM"? Pulling the cruise control against me for 3 seconds does not engage it. My Rev meter does not indicate a map.

Thanks once again!

Will double check and get back to you there. We had to make that ROM from scratch using the latest RR revision and it being a euro ROM, so it is not entirely impossible that we just need to enable the modes.

No and Yes. We have 4 more sets due in on friday. We can drop ship them if you need a set sooner.

Don't know if anyone is keeping track but another satisfied customer here with @moto-mike and his flex fuel kit.
Quality of the kit is right on par with his Tuning ninja skills and no one should expect anything less.
If you're unfortunate enough to have to exercise a little patience because of his busy schedule dont be discouraged. I've shopped elsewhere and can tell you his product and skills are worth the wait....that's even if you have to wait. I didn't so lucky me

Thanks Mike. Great stuff. Love 'n it.

Would a tune be required if I were to install the M E flex fuel kit....? I've already installed a turbo and already had it dyno tuned, but I don't want to have to install it and get it tuned right a way...I want to install it, and then get it re tuned once I have the time
