7.8k miles for me, I did it myself because I didn't want some greasemonkey deflowering my baby.

There is nothing so satisfying as draining her dry and filling her up with your own two hands and masculinity, introducing another person into that experience, a person you are paying to get intimate with your partner... I just, I can't. Maybe I'm just stuck in my old traditional ways, I get that it can be exciting watching someone else get their hands all over her but I think it would just leave me feeling like dirty traitor. I swore an oath when I signed that contract that I would care for her and I alone take responsibility for my baby's maintenance.

And you know what? She hasn't mistreated me once. No regrets.

You would think so given the filter location. But the drain bolt is at the center of the car, impossible to reach and install with the car sitting on the ground, so it must be raised at least 2 inches. The Acura RSX was truly easy.

For a minute I started to slide my hands down the front of my pants, then I realized we were still talking about cars. Finished anyways, would read again. Thanks!

...Where's my foam cannon? My baby needs a good lathering up...

In all seriousness, mine was around 5800 miles, due to scheduled check-up / first warranty service.

Well dang. I've changed the oil in my cars in the past, but now I feel as if I'd just stand there staring at her engine, completely flummoxed as for how to proceed.

I would push 10k on the oil change interval if I could, but I just haven't been running the car enough lately. Less than 5k miles every 6+ months now...

Changed my first oil change at 2k on my own, going into the dealership again @5k (they're willing to do every 5 at my request). My commute consists of heavy traffic downtown in the city.

I change mine every 2.5 months
So you're basing that on just looking at the oil? You can see the lubricating properties with your superhuman eyesight?

I send mine for analysis at Blackstone and got a TBN on the first sample. They said it should be able to go for at least 11,000 miles before it starts to break down. Unless you're tracking the car or otherwise subjecting it to abnormal abuse, 4K oil changes are a waste of money.

The idea behind synthetic oil is that most molecules will be the same size because they are man made. Because of that, it flows better when cold.

Now dino oil does not leak as much because the larger molecules plug up small holes. Has less detergents to remove sludge and are more compatible with older seal chemistry.
"Larger molecules" do not "plug up small holes."

This whole myth about synthetic oil causing old engines to leak got started because of the detergent packages. When people started using synthetics, they had better detergent packages than the older conventional oils people had been using. As a result, the detergents would clean out a dirty engine and would, in some cases, result in leaks.

But the newer dino oils also had improved detergent packages, and they did the exact same thing. When that happened, people just assumed the engine was giving out. They only blamed the oil when they went from conventional to synthetic.

There's really very little difference between synthetic and conventional now that they're all using the same additives, regardless of what someone's grandpa told him.

Not tring to cause a flame or anything but i would love to see u perform 11k oil change on ur car and after a couple of years lets see how ur engine is performing. Dont get me wrong im sure our cars can handle slightly longer intervals than how i change my oil but changing oil often on a vehicle will prolong its life and im sure we all can agree thats a fact.

Please post sources for the information you just posted. Using current sources only, and a balance of sources between auto makers, independent testers and oil companies.

I don't, in fact, agree that what you are stating is "fact".

Online or in your glovebox is where you will find the car's owners manual.

2015 BRZ is 6k intervals.
