If you want a definite answer, call your local dealership and ask about part numbers between 2013/2014 and 2015.

So I looked up the part numbers and Subaru lists the same shock number for 2013-2015 (20310 Front & 20365 rear); however, I just replaced my 2014 Limited with a 2015 S.B, and they drive totally different. The 2015 feels much better dampened. It's not nearly as bouncy. In fact it's so much better that my Bilsteins and Swift Spec R's are just sitting in a box for the time being. I'm not even going to bother installing them until I know I'm headed to the track.
edit: it could also be that my S.B only has 8k on it and my Ltd was approaching 24k when I swapped to Bilsteins.

There's nothing to troubleshoot. I'm just noting that my 2015 rides better than my 2014. I commute 130 miles a day, so a decent ride is important. I'm not saying the Bilsteins are bad, but they're not as comfortable as stock on long trips.

Its hard to imagine the variance in the new shocks for rebound and compression, it could be one of those OEM+ upgrades people look for knowing the dyno graph.

I always felt that my 2015 BRZ rode extremely well. It was my first BRZ so I couldn't compare it to any others, but I felt that the suspension was extremely firm and not bouncy at all. I was surprised at how firm it was from the factory, it was almost as good as my old MR2 with GC coils and Koni's. The handling was similar to my brother's STI on Feals. though, I haven't really pushed the car to its limits and will check that out next month at the track.

From my understanding, it was just the FRS front struts that were changed to be the BRZ spec struts. Toyota wanted to remove some of the tail-happiness that the 2012-14 models had.
As far as adding TRD springs to a '15, I would indeed be a bit wary. The TRD springs were designed to work with the older front struts (read: less dampening). This is why Swift had FRS Spec and BRZ Spec springs for the '12-14 models. The '15 front struts will work well with anything that was BRZ specific or was applicable to both cars (RCE, RSR, etc).

^^ Slight correction, both spring rates were different between FRS and BRZ's.
FRS F/R: 2.3k/3.8k BRZ F/R: 2.7k/3.5k I found with the stock springs the car was over damped, especially up front. It really feels like they went a bit heavy on the damping even with the stiffer of available rates, and since they shared damping rates it needs to work with both the spring rates.

It's not a correction, it's an addition to my statement. I never made the claim that the rears weren't different. I was just letting him know the error in his ways because I'm constantly shocked at the amount of misinformation posted on this site, despite the correct information being posted 2 clicks away.

I may be wrong, but I thought the 2015 RS 1.0's had the TRD springs installed already. |
