Wow, I pay for full coverage for a 2013 FR-S and a 2013 Dodge Dart SXT for $127 a month. I couldn't imagine paying that much on insurance... holy crap.

If you're under 25, I would say wait and also get quotes from other insurance agencies.

Farmer's insurance had no idea what an FR-S even was and tried to quote me almost $500 a month. I swapped to Geico and all my problems went away.

I'm paying $215 a month on a 10 year old S2000. Shit happens. Age, driving record, and maybe even most importantly, the city you live in, all affect rates.

Is this vehicle worth paying that much insurance? In my honest opinion, your quote of $250 a month is not worth it. That is already over half of your monthly car note. Live within your means, especially when your young. I'm 30 with USAA and I got a quote for $90 full coverage with all the side fixings.

$250 a monthto insure a Scion is way too much for me to justify. Definitely not worth it especially on a car that you also are financing.

A big decision for me in getting the FRS was the $120/month full coverage. I was already paying $80/month for a ratty old 95 4door civic with only liability. Another $40 more a month for insurance but in a brand new FRS was perfect so I had to get the car.

The car itself is only a very small factor in considering rates. The driver is the bigger variable. What other people pay is totally irrelevant.

Either you can afford it or you can't (how about that for insightful).

I am jealous of all you guys younger than me who are paying $100 a month or less. I'm going on 31 and I have never had a ticket or accident since I started driving at 18 yet I can't find a deal less than $100 a month. Clean record yet most companies want me to pay what a 23 year old pays with 2-3 tickets

I pay $250 a month but that's for my Miata, BRZ, and home coverage. 24 year old male, 3 speeding tickets over 3 years ago, live in Canada.

That is extremely high, IMO. I am in California, so price of living is higher than your area. Im 25 with several speeding tickets on my record and a ticket for rolling a stop sign (come on man, manual car, in SF, on the Moraga hill going up) and my insurance is only $150.
