Insurance Quote

Today my little cousin just turned 17 and he got his license like 4 days...
do you guys know what will be the average of his insurance ?
I'm currently out of US for this and the next month so I can't call the insurance to ask.

Please can I have a quote of estimate for this cars :
1) Nissan 370z
2) FRS ( probably no one know at the moment )
3) IS250 ?

Too many factors for some random Internet person to guess. Why don't you have him get an online quote, or call a few companies to get quotes?

I estimate that his parents have more money than brains (and/or parenting skills).

You didn't get a $30k+ sports car when you turned 17 either? We need to start a support group.

Why not have the cousin do his own research. Or better yet his parents.

17 and just got his license? Tell him to get the 370z or the IS250...better for him, and better for the rest of us

First, insurance is going to be crazy high and no one will be able to give you a real quote without knowing a lot more information.

Second, I am not going to hate on a family having the means to give their son an expensive car (which is where this thread will end up going) but if I was a parent with 35k+ to spend on a car for my child I would get him a 15k car and then spend 10k on track time with a driving instructor and 10k for him to use to learn how to wrench and modify a car properly.

This will hopefully give him the respect and knowledge that should be used when driving high performance cars and the expertise to help carry his passion for driving into the future.

Then when he graduates from graduate school with a decent GPA (3.2+) I would buy him a 50-65k car to congratulate him for his hard work.

That does seem like the obvious answer. I have no idea why we'd be able to provide rates for him versas just having him do something wacky and crazy, like call an insurance agent.

I don't have anything against a family having the means to provide their children with expensive cars. If that's how they choose to spend their money, then they have every right to do so.

The part that makes me apprehensive with parents doing this is the fact that 17 year old kids don't need 300+ hp cars the day they get their license. I know the stupid stuff I did when I was that age with a 100hp car and don't want to share the road with new drivers in cars with power they probably don't respect. I know there are exceptions for every rule, but for the most part you can't argue that 17 year old guys aren't somewhat irresponsible and inexperienced behind the wheel.
