Mishimoto Build Thread: BRZ/FR-S Direct Fit Baffled Catch Can Kit!

Proof that the catch can is effective. I installed the catch can friday morning in about 15 minutes, very easy to install (I am also missing the fourth hose clamp). I drove the car 60 miles to the track, did three thirty minute sessions and drove home. Unscrewed the catch can to find a layer of oil covering the entire bottom of the can and some still sitting on top of the inner baffle. I tried pouring out what I could on a napkin and then wiping out the rest.

Here are the results (very glad I am running a catch can now):

Installed my can last night! Easy peasy install, 10 mins taking your time....

Quality of packaging and product was first class.

Looks great, almost like it belongs there.... I got the red to match other red stuff in my bay and I agree with @Sojhinn I wish it was a little darker, almost looks pink when its light out.

But this is more of a functional mod than cosmetic, its just a bonus that it happens to look pretty good in the spot.

Also just realized that the nomal price is now $260.. $85 off for the sale, thats a very nice difference +1 @Mishimoto for the killer pre-sale.

This is my first Mishimoto product, but if they have other stuff that interests me later on it wont be my last!

Great question! We had a bit of a discussion about the clamp count yesterday. Initially we had intended for four clamps to be used on this kit, one for each connection. We later found that the clamp would not fit into place under the engine cover on the manifold port. This connection is not pressurized, so the kit ended up with 3 clamps. For those with boosted vehicles, a clamp addition in this position would be wise.

We mentioned earlier that this kit should include 4 clamps, and we shipped out a few extra clamps to folks. Moving forward, this kit is intended to include 3 clamps. If you are running forced induction, we recommend sourcing a clamp for the 4th connection point.
