Nice. I finally flashed to the Stage 1 91 octane after having my OFT sitting around unused for months. So far so good! Car definitely has noticeably stronger acceleration above 4k now!

One thing that was weird is that after the flash process when I turned the car back on, the door open indicator on the dash was lit, even though my doors were shut. I tried opening and shutting them again and the light stayed on, so I just drove for a bit, stopped and turned the car off, popped the trunk and then closed it and then closed the driver's door and the light went off. Strange.

Anyone know the ballpark # of miles I should expect to drive before the car "learns" the new tune?

Did you follow the procedure for turning on your car after tuning? I noticed very little 'break in' time for my tune.

I let it sit and idle for 30 seconds after turning the car back on, per the instructions here: http://openflashtablet.com/getting_started/

There's another way that I used, I think steve99 posted it where you turn ignition on (not engine), let sit for 30 seconds, turn off, repeat, then turn on motor & let idle for x seconds. It's something like that but I don't remember specifics, search around you'll find it in one of the oft threads.. Or I'm sure someone will chime in here.

Steve99's method is to turn off ignition after a flash and then put it on position for 20 or so seconds, turn off, turn to on position for another 20 seconds then start engine and let it settle to normal idle RPM of 750 or so - ALL OF THIS WITHOUT TOUCHING THROTTLE PEDAL AT ALL.

This has always worked well for me.

The tune Shiv did for the GrimmSpeed Intake def makes a lot of noise at 4k but I am slowly getting used to it. He said he could tone down that part of the tune but you would lose mid-range. I plan on a header soon so hopefully the sound will be more balanced and the torque/power should be better everywhere.I wonder if the stage 2 tune sound the same at 4k?

The orchestra is just not quite right yet...lol

Stage 2 does not make the raspy noise since the header fills in that area of the torque dip and there's no reason to make the tune as aggressive. I certainly don't miss the rasp

+1. I haven't noticed it at all since I installed the OFH and went stage 2

Got a chance to log some miles on the tune today on some of my favorite driving roads. I planned a route that landed me at a gas station that offers fuels above 91 octane.

Wow, I thought that the car felt good with 91 in the tank - I was able to fit 4.5 gallons of 96 octane ($5.99/gal) in the car and this seemed to make it come alive even more. I guess this is because the reguar 91 still wasn't "enough" in a sense for the 91 tune.

Anyway, echoing what others have already said, but I'm loving the power below 4k now and I love that valve noise at 3.8-4k.

Slightly strange situation: Stage 2 OFH+OFT (Not sure of exact version, purchased right before 2.0 was launched), stock otherwise. Car has been stage 2 for ~2 months now, no issues.

Yesterday leaving work I turned the car on and drove off the property (about 1/2 mile, 15mph cruising at little to no throttle); once I got on the main road accelerating about about 40-50% throttle the car had a hesitation right at ~2700rpm in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gear. It didn't do it again after that very first time.

Tonight I drove the car home from the GF's parents house and again, it did the same thing but only in 2nd gear (couldn't feel it in 3rd or 4th). I'm going to try logging it next time to see, but anyone else experience this?

All I can think is that the car was very cold both of these times (all other times the car is stored in my heated garage, so it never gets driven with <30 degree starting), but again it has never done this before when stock. Thoughts?

I bet the car is just cold. BUT you should flash the new version 2.0 tune and see if it does it again.

That was my thought too, being an engineer I tend to overthink things (my GF reminds me of that everyday lol) so I'll just keep an eye on it.

Car is going away for winter anyways after this weekend when the salt starts flying, so I'll log it in the spring.
