Anyone care to take a peek at my first pull with the 1.42b Stage 1 tune? ~162 seconds is a 0-62 run (check the throttle) and the 300 seconds chunk is a 3rd gear pull (Once again, check the throttle because it started on an on road and I was cruising slowly so that I could maintain low RPM before going WOT.

Can anyone speak to the OFT tune with daily driving after a full exhaust swap? I'm thinking this will be the path I take but I wanted to hear some other impressions. (And yes I've read good bit of the thread already)

Well I'd advise only touching one of the timing tables, whether it be base or advance that's up to you. I also like the idea of flat advance tables across each load so you can easily see if there's any timing being pulled, but that's just me.
@troek timing is the only thing that changes with differences in octane as you can run more advance with better fuel. The target AFRs won't change, unless the AFRs appear to be changing as a result.

Is the soft rev limiter feature still in this 1.42 stock tune? If so, what exactly does it do?
I remember when I had 1.34 and rev'ed up to the limit, it kept my rev at the limit instead of bouncing back down. I just got a new BRZ and uploaded the 1.42 stage 1 tune to it and I thought I'd rev it up to make sure the tune was written correctly, but it cut off power and my needle bounced off the rev limit! I checked the vehicle rom info and it says stage 1. |

I've gotta say, I am really enjoying the OFT. In the stock car, power delivery was much improved with 93 and my logs seemed to be spot on ideal. I even picked up ~3mpg. I just switched to the 1.42b EL e85 tune with some corn juice and it must be high e stuff because I couldn't make it 1/2 mile without the fuel trims jumping. After about 2 miles I had to pull over (ahead of my preplanned stop) to flash because I could feel the loss in power and changes in timing. With corn juice it is just wonderful. The car would be amazing if it came like this. I'll get my first e85 log up later. I couldn't do a full 0-60 or full 3rd gear pull because I was on backroads, but the power was sweet. I couldn't open it up all the way like I normally can because of the wet roads.

How do I know which files are for e85 and which ones are for premium gasonline? Thanks. |
