I did not tell the service rep that i saw this and i ask him so what are you doing to my car now? He says just replacing the high pressure fuel pump. So knowing what i saw i said are you sure thats it? He goes yes that is all. So anyone that knows this car will kno that you do not remove the engine to replace a high pressure fuel pump!
Was the dealer doing a dodgy on Toyota behind your back ? Or they're doing something without your knowing or consent ?

Id demand to know exactly what they're doing. There's no reason to remove the engine for a fuel pump. Looks and sounds like they're hiding something from you.

If they won't answer you, escalate to the regional office.

I had this problem the first year I had my car.

This year I have been to a number of track events and have not had to add any coolant yet.

I called new york regional office and corporate in cali... told them everything and the dealer called me immediately to apologize. They said that they replaced the fuel pump and it wasnt the prob. Obv was not the prob did you hear the noise you dumb a** so he says we ordered a second short block and are currently replacing it. My feeling is my car will never be the same again from all these engine tear downs. just waiting on the lemon law arbitration hearing. hope all goes well for me.

Coolant Disappearing

I have a similar and am loosing sleep over it, please help. My reservoir coolant level keeps dropping. I last filled it, once engine was cold to the full mark october 5 and now its already half way between low and full. Only six days after and half of it in the reservoir is gone?? There are no leaks anywhere that i could see, the radiator is completely full, any ideas? I really dread the trips to the dealers as i honestly think they are the worse people to work on the car but i don't have a mechanic and the car's got 7k miles on it.

Man i swear i love these cars but god they have issues!!

For reference and future help to anyone with a similar problem. I took the car to the dealer and they did a pressure leak test. They found nothing, they say as long as the coolant in the reservoir doesn't go below the "low" mark, it's ok. If the coolant level drops below the low mark at any time then they'll have to perform other tests.

My coolant kept dropping until eventually reaching the low line. I topped it off to full and since then it has never gone below the half mark. I also have the white spatter marks on some parts of my engine bay.

I have a feeling this solution will fix my issue. I've noticed the little black rubber hose is completely white/blue now.

Just as an aside, even though I don't have a brz/frs yet. I have had a number of subarus including 2 WRXs, and they all leak coolant lol. I have given up on keeping the leaks away so i just fill it up now and then. If you had HG probs the coolant is either going to go into the oil, or oil into the coolant, or you're going to smoke like a cancer patient.

Update to my update.

Checked my tank the other week and noticed that I'm losing coolant again. Not quite as bad as the first time, but it's a couple inches above low. What I should've done was mention it during my oil change so they'd fill it up again. I thought it was part of the "service." Guess not!

The only time it was filled after being purchased in April 2013, was in Nov 2013 and was below low. 11 months later, it's not below the line, so progress?

Well keep in mind that the tech at the dealer told me this fluctuation is normal and when cold it would be around the low mark, as long as it doesn't completely vanish from the reservoir bottle then we are good. I know this isn't normal to other cars but maybe it is to this guy b
