It's a '68 convertible...my friend rebuilt the engine for me and basically put the car together. The engine (289) was originally out of a '67 that my parents owned. My friend threw a 5 speed transmission in there and I recently had the rear gears changed which really woke up the car...it originally had a 3 speed. Here's a quick pic but I should definitely take more:

Nice! My '67 is an original 3spd and I also now have a 5spd (T-5). Just got a new fuel tank, need to order some lines next.
Nice pair of cars you've got there.

This looks like a great way to get rid of the annoying rattle from the rear deck if you have subs...

So back to tint for a minute, anyone who is tinted try this yet? OP you are awesome, looks very nice!
Edit: OP I don't know how I missed that you have tint. How did the 3M go for you?

Regarding the tint, I did worry somewhat about what will happen when I need to replace a bulb in the brake light...but perhaps it will be a non-issue. Still smiling every time I look out of my rear window.

so far so good on my car as well, and it is tinted. I have the same concern if I ever need to pull it off, as I'm pretty sure the tint will come off with the 3M. Hopefully these are good LEDs that will last.
I don't have any pictures up after I did it, but looks identical to the OP's pictures, except on a Raven FR-S. |

Are you having any issue with the 3M being fully flush all the way around? I just have two small spots in the corners where it isn't quite 100%, but it's not terrible by any means. I suspect it has more to do with my installation than anything else. |

Unfortunately for me, I stuck it on there a little bit off center. Should have woken the wife up to offer a second hand when installing. Have left it alone for now because I'm pretty sure that when it finally gets loose, it will pull tint with it.

you could probably try removing it with a heat gun. if the tint comes off at all, you could separate it with the heat gun and then reapply.

Here are some very crappy pics I shot yesterday of the minor issue I have (there's another spot like this on the other side): ![]() ![]() It really looks to me like it's an issue with my tint...and I THINK it wasn't like that before the brake light install...I'm not really sure how that happened (maybe from all the pressure I was applying to the window when pushing on the new brake light???). It's really very minor, but unfortunately that's under/inside the new third brake light so I can really access it easily to smooth out the tint. Doesn't really bother me, but I just wanted to share the issue. |

As for my light, it might not be completely way off, but more than enough to make me notice it (especially when you see it on, as I did once I had a helper press brakes for me). I'm just leaving it as it is until I have time to maybe get at it with a heat gun like trevorovert suggested. Would have to go to a friend's house to borrow their garage so I have a power outlet nearby, lol. The joys of apartment life... |
