Sorry to hear that man. I went with the PST carbon fiber driveshaft - had no problems at all and my buddy bought one as well so we got both installed at my garage. We had no issues with vibration at speed at all. Now that I have my KW S/C, I have 0 issues through the whole rev range to redline. Glad I got a keeper.

I'm happy for you lol... not really. I'm going to try to balance it myself.

Ok, had it tested just now after the 180* rotation. Above 100kmh (62mph) it definitely still vibrates. It's not as bad as previously but it's still there and quite noticeable. Can be felt through my butt and steering wheel. The entire car/cabin vibrates and I can see my rear view mirror vibrating quite intensely. Again, it seems to go away after 145kmh (about 90mph) and there on it's normal again. Even at around 180kmh (about 110mph), no vibrations.

I'm beginning to suspect that it could be some sort of resonance at that certain speed. If I clutch in, the vibration goes away. It happens when I step on the pedal, i.e. the harder I step, the more noticeable it becomes.

This is frustrating as it's my 2nd visit to the workshop in two days. Rotating the DS by 180* was as per DriveShaftShop's instructions. Disappointed so far.

Had the same issue with my aluminum driveshaft. Pull it out, call driveshaft shop, get a complaint filed they'll send you a shipping tag, send it back to get rebalanced.

Its frustrating but this is the game we play when we start modifying from stock.

This is good to know. Probably best for future buyers to not get a driveshaft from a company that can't balance them. Completely unacceptable. I'd probably cross driveshaftshop off my list.

So far one person says no problem with PST. Anyone else have issues with PST?

Yeah but that's bullshit considering they "high speed balance" all of their shafts. Also OP is in malaysia, you think DSS is going to foot the bill on sending it back so they can balance it again.

Oh and you can't order a replacement and send the old one back. The forbid it on their warranty specifically. So you can't just have them put a hold on your credit card and send the shitty one back.

You still have 2 more positions to try before I would say you actually have a problem.

I would think too that 90 rotation would be the first I'd try before 180.

As others have said turn it 90 try it and repeat to find sweet spot. In case you may not have noticed stock driveshaft is marked from factory and is best on that spot to so hopefully you marked the diff plate when removing the original shaft?

My DSS required to turn 3 times, 270 degrees from original to be best. PST shaft it worked good in any location.

I would turn it. Same thing happened on my friends STI. Just had to find the sweet spot and when you do find it. Mark it for future reference

Alright, just did a 90 degrees rotation at the shop (which means I have one last 'rotation') left. And unsurprisingly, the car still vibrates at similar speeds. In fact, this time around it kicks in slightly earlier (95km/h compared to 100km/h) previously and vibrates throughout to 150km/h). Honestly at this point I think the 3rd rotation wouldn't make much difference, and the mechanic at my shop agrees as well.

Man, that's 3 visits in 3 days. Will update you guys once I rotate for the final time tomorrow. Let's hope that all goes well!

How are carbon shafts balanced? Do they add stick on weights? Maybe one fell off?

If the previous rotation and initial install were about the same (given that you rotated 180 on the first one) and this last one is worse (90 degree rotation), it stands to reason that this next one should be better since you've pretty much found where the weight is focused at on the shaft and you are going to move it where it will have the least effect. If this rotation fails you I'd definitely give the manufacturer a call to see about getting it rebalanced.

Also, do you not have access to some jack stands and a floor jack? Rotating the shaft literally takes more time getting the car up on stands than the actual rotation process. I know its pretty moot at this point since your on your last rotation but there are several small things you can do yourself without having to pay a shop to do it. The shop install fee savings alone would more than pay for the jack stands and floor jack.

Even if you're doing it at a shop how hard is it to rotate 90, test drive up to highway speeds(+), come immediately back and try again. Its an hourlong process not 3 days.

You and your mechanic have repeatedly failed to follow the instructions everyone has said to try. (which is also the globally accepted troubleshooting method for driveshaft vibrations)

If neither you or your mechanic can handle that than neither of you should be dealing with modified cars.
