Advertisement but gives you an idea of how autos work versus manuals. Autos have a torque converter and flex plate, manuals have a flywheel and clutch. Not counting the fancy new dual clutch gearboxes and whatnot, which the BRZ/FR-S doesn't have.

Exedy stage One organic clutch and chromoly flywheel

Helped @bjun install the Exedy parts in his BRZ before he had PTuning install his turbo kit. Very nice manners on the street immediately after install. He's still way liking the combination. When I go FI the carbon driveshaft and Exedy parts are going in too!

BJun hasn't put in a carbon driveshaft yet (as of today anyway 6/8/2014), but I think the combo will be a hoot!

I DD the prolite, it's fine. Bump up your idle to 900-1000rpm and everything works fine. It's easy to drive and doesn't chatter nearly as bad with an increased idle. The alum driveshaft makes a lot of noise from 2000-3200rpm but it's just race car noises. It's drivetrain decel noises which I'm ok with.

Driving a stock brz feels weird to me now. Rev hang is just ridiculous and it feels very disconnected compared to mine.

A flywheel will not cause any change in vibration. The Driveshaft might, I didn't notice it but then again our car isn't really daily driven.

I thought any time you went from a dual mass flywheel (stock) to a single mass flywheel (aftermarket) you were going to gain at least some additional drivetrain noise. The lighter you go, the more noise you are likely to incur. Several people have reported this on the forum. Search around and you can find more detailed feedback.

ive got the streetlite flywheel, 6 puk ACT combo and as mentioned earlier, at warm idle with AC on, the chatter is almost embarrasing. ill have to look into raising the idle maybe 200rpm or so.
when shifting gears, the revs drop a lot faster so thats a plus.

i dont have the drifeshaft upgrade tho

I find it seriously annoying to drive a puck clutch for a DD. If your running an S/C setup or AVO kit then the exedy stage 1 will be fine, anything more than 350 to the wheels I'd go with clutchmasters. If you have more than that then id start looking at a TD from either Exedy or CM.

I'm guessing lighter weight flywheels will be less chattery if ran with a full faced clutch.

Yes, but I'm not sure if the stock flywheel is a DMF one. I wonder does anyone make a lightweight DMF for this car?

The real mass is in the torque converter (and the fluid it's filled with) and you're not going to notice any difference with a driveshaft either because you have a fluid coupling to the wheels.

Spend your money elsewhere.

Not to those people who have them.
