Flywheel and Driveshaft
 

How much of a difference in terms of how the car behaves will a aluminum/cro-moly flywheel and aluminum driveshaft have on the car?

I can't speak specifically for this car, but for my previous car (Acura rsx type s) the lightened flywheel alone made a big difference. Nothing you can't get used to. I loved the acceleration after the install as the car felt much more responsive. I can only imagine the light flywheel paired with the aluminum driveshaft would do on this car

It's a huge difference. We run both lightweight items and the car revs very quickly, ready to go. :-) wouldn't drive an frs again without those parts.

Did this add any vibration or anything like that?

I have run a single piece aluminum shaft on my 240 for over 10 years, only hollow thunk sound when shifting some times.. but then I put on a fidanza aluminum flywheel, and the off throttle/engine braking vibration shakes the whole car and with windows down the echo off the houses sounds like my car is going to fall apart. The response went up, but not enough to make up for the noise/vibration.

"Lightweight flywheel" come in different weights.

I've thought about doing this as well, but all the vibration stories have kept me from pulling the trigger.

Go with the streetlite! The protlite is too light for the street and extremely difficult to drive. Even the streetlite is pretty noisy and chatters alot at idle with the ac on. Are you going 6 puck?

When I had my WRX I didn't go with the absolute lightest weight flywheel and probably won't on the BRZ either. I've heard lots of bad things about aluminum propshafts but not nearly as many about CF ones, so I'm definitely going CF when the time comes.

I've been trying to purchase a Speedsport clutch for about a month now but no one seems to have them. They don't use that light of a flywheel and the clutch disks are all CF so there is some weight saved there as well.

Really? I have an Auto so it won't be difficult to drive like a manual. Do they make clutch packs for autos?

Umm...autos dont have a flywheel

You want a torque converter with a lightweight case, not a flywheel. Dunno if such a thing exists for the twins yet. Had one for the 4L60E in my GTO and it was awesome though.
