Its just the rubber that "sticks" a bit, I did take a screwdriver and "lifted" the rubber a bit from the plastic on one side, and pulled it out afterwards. However, do it carefully, you dont want to damage the rubber.

I guess BRZ's come with a black version of the TRD red tube standard now.
Is this confirmed?

Did this last night, because I'm a child and I like whooshy noises. Took all of fifteen seconds to stick some needlenose pliers in the footwell hole and pull out a clump of foam.

I figure this mod is good for at least +1.3whp.

Pricey

Ya I like noise, so I thought I'd try it.

$60 at RallySportDirect.

It adds a little bit, but not much.

The cheaper route would be to just pull the foam out of the stock tube.

Red Tube = No Foam
Green Tube = Less Foam
Stock Tube = With Foam
Blue Tube = Blocked passage (molded in wall to stop air flow).

Just FYI. The little divots on the Blue tube are just molding features to mold the wall in the blocked tube. You need that to control wall thinkness during injection molding processes.

You can see my installed red tube poking through the firewall in the passenger foot area.

I did a drive comparison with the sound tube plugged with the AC plug and I don't know why people want to block this off.

I found the car sounded dead with the sound tube blocked off. I enjoy a nice growl in the cockpit and plan to remove the insides of the sound tube to increase sound satisfaction!

oh god.. that brought in a new definition of 'cant find the hole'..

got there in the end.. covered in brown grease from the steering rack.. stuffed that hole back up in the end. it was a little fiddly with these fat fingers. sounds decent though with a k&n filter. good illusion, worth the 30 dollars
