This may be a cheaper option compared to the blue one.

from my experience so far the oem sound tube doesn't do anything. I have the AEM intake w/ sound tube delete and its much louder than stock w/ sound tube.

Wow, all this time and money spent over the sound in the cabin. I guess it's true that a fool and his money are soon parted.
As far as improving your intake, it's been shown that a flat panel filter like the ones from K&N achieve just about all the performance gain of a complete replacement setup. Definitely a better value unless your objective is more about having some under hood bling... |

I got this and tried it just because I like the sound in the cabin. You really notice it when in 2nd gear or higher, and above 3500rpm. If you floor the pedal as opposed to just accelerating slowly you can hear the difference a lot more. I can easily hear the cabin sound over medium volume music. It's not loud all the time, which is a good thing. It mainly gets loud when you want to and start driving aggressive.
Tube is the same size as the OEM. That being said, I'm sure you could find a way to clear out the OEM tube and have the same effect. Fun and easy mod. Probably not worth $60, but I have a lot of extra cash and I'm a curious person. lol |

I've looked into this, the only difference in the tube is the amount of foam they stuffed inside of it. It is extremely easy to pull your stock one, remove all of the foam and then you have a free "red one" if you want the color you can grab a can of plastics spray paint and still save $35.

I just took out the foam on my stock tube, and did a notice a slight difference. One question I have though, is the sound changer supposed to plug in really tight into the firewall? It feels a little loose, like a small amount of play if your lightly trying to pull it out. You can then eventually feel it catch on the grooves and stop, which needs more force to pull it completely out.

If you only plan to remove the foam from the stock tube, you can easily expose the hole via the footwell by pulling the carpet down a bit and use a pair of tweezers to remove the yellow foam. Instant red tube in less than a minute. You don't even need to pop the hood.
