Your issue just doesn't make sense to me unless the clearance was hella tight before the new DS.

It probably was. But you can't see it from the side to get a good view of it.

We have the kart boy and carbon shaft in our race car. Zero issues. Something has to be off with the shifter install.

Is the car still in the air? I am thinking maybe if you let it on the ground you will gain clearance....?

I'm pretty sure Anthony discovered this on the ground, and up in the air was to look and figure things out..

Can you shim the shifter up with a few washers?

I thought of this same thing last night going to bed. But even if that is the case, that's still not cool because it means even if it's not hitting, it's going to be ridiculously close. Still worth grinding down a bit.

Nope. I've heard a lot of horror stories about these driveshafts being off balance, so before I put the car on the ground, I wanted to let it idle in 1st to see if I could detect any defects before doing the work to set it down and possibly pick it up again. The shifter issue was so pronounced, that I've put off checking the driveshaft for now to get this handled.

Yes. My Tiburon does this same thing. If I wiggle it, I can get it to not spin in neutral. Then I can wiggle it some more and it will begin to spin again. But it's not in gear. I can hit the brakes and it will stop but not stall. I was under the impression this is normal since my 10 year old FWD Hyundai and my still-new RWD Toyota both do it. But yes, I was also wondering why it does this and if it's normal. That's for another thread though.

I was looking at it. You can't put the shifter in backwards. The plate is installed correctly, unless the Kartboy logo is meant to be upside down. The rear shifter bushing is installed correctly.

Maybe I could take the exhaust and driveshaft off again, loosen the shifter bushing, then push up on it and re-tighten it.

If you can somehow get a picture of the clearance between the linkage and the driveshaft, that would be great.

You can install it backwards.... I did the first time lol. It won't shift into all the gears and give some odd issues like you are having. Give it a shot?

Huh...

I have no problem shifting, but my reverse lockout has been nonfunctional ever since I did it. I installed MTEC shifter springs, Whiteline positive shift kit, Perrin shifter pushing, and the Kartboy shifter all at once. I just chalked it up too doing too much at once. The bottom of the shifter is angled forward though, I'm pretty sure. I think if it was backwards, it would be angled backwards and the angle of the shifter would be pointing way forward.

I'll look at it again when I get home.
