Hoping to get some good feedback here...First time buying aftermarket wheels

I think I've finally decided on a wheel...TSW Interlagos...Leaning towards 18" for the added sex...So 18x8 ET35 is what I'm currently thinking
http://www.1010tires.com/Wheels/TSW/Interlagos+RF/Painted/Matte+Black

Currently on stock suspension...Might get some coilovers in the future

I also think I've landed on Michelin Pilot Super Sports Tires as I've heard they are good grip for improved handling as a DD with good tread life and still a litttttle bit of slip/play for those fun corners..exactly what I'm looking for (if you have a better suggestion please let me know!)

So my questions...
- What tire specs would be best to keep overall area the same? 225/40/18? 245/35/18?
- Will this all fit on stock suspension? What about a 1" drop?
- Do I need any special hardware for the wheels? Hub ring, lug nuts, etc.?

Keeping in mind my overall goal is a fun DD with good tread life, better handling than stock and keeping the speedo as close to 0% off as possible...While keeping in mind that a 1" drop could be coming down the line.

Thanks!!

You could go with either size although the 225/40R18 is a better fit for the 8", the 245 can work too (range is 8-9.5" rim). Will all fit well on stock suspension or lowered with either tire. You will likely need tuner lugnuts and hubcentric rings.

Good choice of wheel, I like the look.

So maybe I'd just be okay with 225's then, not sure... those 9.5"s available in that wheel are just too big I'd guess, until I get coils to help reduce the chance of rubbing.
Go with 225/40R18 and save the weight, plus the contact patch is no longer ideal for tracking is you use a 245/35R18.

You'll have a great combo for the track with that set, just choose yourself a nice sticky tire.

Dropping on coilovers or lowering springs? That's the first question to answer before any others.

Tire size for a 9.5" wide rim is 245/35-265/35. Above answer will determine what makes most sense for you.

17x7.5 +45
18x7.5 +45
18x8.5 +48
18x9.5 +48
Those are high offsets for anything over 8" wide. Either option with 7.5" wide wheel will work, but for the 8.5 and 9.5 reduce offset by about 10mm.

Coilovers or coils?

Appreciate it!

How can I determine for sure if it requires the tuner lugnuts or not? I guess I can ask the supplier..

Also, with that setup (225/40R18 on 18x8s) how flush do you think I'll be? And will my speedo be affected much?

Again, thanks!

Discount tire will let you know if you need tuner lugs but likely needed for that wheel.

It will be pretty flush, one of our local guys is running the exact same combo and it looks great.

That tire is pretty close to stock and probably within 1% of your speedo. Will read a touch higher (ie. 100 km/h indicated will be actually 101)

With coilovers, you could run all except the 18x9.5 +48.
Even with the 18x8.5 +48, it's not an ideal offset, but it should fit.

If you're stuck on these wheels and no other offsets are available, then I'd suggest getting proper hubcentric spacers for an extra 10mm (like below). You could then run even the 9.5" wide wheels with a corrected offset of +38. You'll need extended wheel studs for these too.

I'm stuck on either those or Enkei Racing NT03, the SA15R those are the only offsets they offer.

I'm definitely a noob when it comes to wheels, tires and offsets so I really appreciate you helping out. I'll try to do some more research but think I'm going to go with the SA15R. So I should go with the 8.5 and just get the spacers and extended lug nuts?

Yes, or go with the NT03's as their offsets are more FT86 friendly.

FYI, quality spacers like the H&R Trak (as posted) will come with the extended studs FYI.

Thanks for the heads up. One last questions, If I go with the NT03's whats a more reasonable offset to go with for our cars?

Stock for this year. next year, coilovers. Most likely V3s.

Depends on the width. I think the 18x9.5 are available in +40 which is perfect with coilovers. 18x8 in +35 also is common. There's also a wide range of colours available (silver, SBC, black, white, gold, etc....)

Check out the vendor forums for group buys, I'm sure there's a few going on at the moment.
