You can use a lighter. It will shrink way before it will burn. Proper tool is a heat gun.

Installed my Flex Fuel kit earlier this evening. Got everything installed, up and running in a few hours, taking my time. Followed the instructions exactly and everything came together perfectly. Removing the connectors on the ECU to get the harness connected was a pain. Running the wires was easy, took my time connecting the crimps together. I had to really lay into the crimping tool to get it to bite the wires and secure them. A lighter worked fine to melt the heatshrinks on the crimps.

I got everything in the cabin zip tied out of sight and away from hazards and was able to mount the sensor gauge and tuck the wire away neatly into the dash panel.

The fuel lines came together quite easily. The quick disconnect tool worked well and the FF assembly installed securely and made all my apprehensions go away. Overall the instructions were extremely thorough and detailed and that made me much more comfortable with the kit.

It all came together cleanly and without any issues. I flashed the Flex Fuel tune provided and started the car. Checked and rechecked for leaks and headed to the E85 pump. Filled up with Ethanol and the sensor reacted after a couple minutes running both DI and PI and I proceeded to make a few logs for Moto-East to review. The power was all there and it's running great so far.

Very happy with this kit and the Flex Fuel tune!

Heat gun is the referred method. Not a big expense, and a tool that rests nicely in the box until called for action once again. Even heat and controlled shrinkage and usable in places where use of an open flame is not advisable.
Open flame can melt the tubing, so be forewarned.

I installed the kit today, it took about two hours start to finish.

I ended up using solder sleeve connectors instead of the supplied crimp ones, since I've had great luck with them in the past. The most frustrating part of the install for me (similar to ATL BRZ) was the ECU connector.

The fuel line install takes about 30 seconds.

Right now my Kroger 93 is reading 8%. Once I get the flex fuel tune I'll go fill up with some E85, hopefully tomorrow.

Curious to see what your sensor will read.

I filled up my nearly empty tank with E85 from my closest station in East Lake and the sensor has stablized at 61%. Winter blend??

I want the good stuff that will bring that sensor reading up much higher!!

I'll be doing a total fill this week as well. Need to burn through what I have first. I post up what I see as well.

I filled up at the Shell station on Roswell Road in Sandy Springs. I put in 6.6 gallons of E85 and after driving a few minutes both the display and the CPU registered 55%. That was from a starting value of 8%. So that's probably right at 85% Ethanol.

Funny I had to wait for a guy in a Cadillac CTS filling up a 5 gallon container with E85. Wonder what his other vehicle is...

Man, this kit looks nice. Even filling with regular 93 octane gas with 10% ethanol takes advantage of flex fuel kits, doesn't it? Seems like they keep trying to add more and more ethanol into our gas anyway. I could also use a solid flex fuel tune from Mike!

For me this kit is a safety net as much as it is a convenience modification and "power adder". In addition to not having to hassle with running the fuel tank try and switch maps and hope the E85 map is calibrated properly for whatever blend E85 you may be getting at the pump, the timing advance is always spot on and the AFR is right where is should be all the time regardless of what mix of gas and ethanol you're running. I like the knock resistance and cooling effects that E85 brings since I track my car often. The flex fuel kit+tune gives me that extra peace of mind.

Glad to see more E85 users in the ATL area! Need to ramp up the demand so more stations will offer E85!

61% is kinda low though.. It's probably because you still had a few gallons of 93 left in your tank. Right now the winter mix is right around E73-74. With spring on the way, that should be rising to ~E80 soon.

After driving about 10 miles from the office to home mine dropped to 45% from 54% when I left. That's probably more inline of what I would expect with about half 93 and half E85.
