It looks as if there are no gains in the torque dip due to the header. Just top end gains due to lower EGT and higher flowing exhaust from lack of cat. Also look at mad_sb's thread on cam tuning with brzedit he saw the same gains on a stock car with tuning as shiv saw with his "oft + ofh". So some how shiv is getting the same gains with a header as mad_sb was getting STOCK.

I am not saying it is a bad product. I am just saying his marketing techniques are poor and misleading.
Are you really comparing nominal hp gains from different cars, on different mods, on vastly different dynes, in differently conditions? I don't exactly understand what your motive is but don't you feel that you are intentionally misleading people?

Aren't you doing the same? I asked for a fair comparison in your thread and you overlayed a comparison of an old tune vs a new tune with your header. Seemed unfair to me. Surely as you have a header in your possession you can do a simple before and after dyno. Maybe both on the same fuel? Or hell send me a rental I will gladly pay the dyno time and see how it compares! I genially mean that. I hope the product does well and works as a great cheap market header, as there is a current lack of proven low priced headers. I will gladly pay for dyno time of your stage 1 oem header vs stage 2 aftermarket header on a local dyno and or tune it my self to see the obtainable gains from your header! Please PM me and or call me as you have my number and I will gladly work things out!

Have you tracked or auto crossed on your staggered set? If so, did you do it before swapping to staggered? How did the handling change feel?

I'm on stock right now but am planning on moving to
some rpf1, and am still unsure of whether I want to go staggered or not.

I really dig the look but am in it for performance

Haven't auto crossed ever, but after hearing about how fun it is for people that have done it their first time, it's on the list of things to do. So, can't speak from a performance aspect. This is my DD and more or less for looks, but I do want some performance mixed in there as well for occasions that call for it.

Gauging interest.

If I were to have an open shop day what kind of interest would there be? Primarily the day could be used to take advantage of my lifts, expertise, tools for jobs that perhaps you simply do not have the resources for. I am not looking to make money so this is not a vendor plug. If anything, just a way to help some locals and if anything make you aware of what I can do for future reference.

Let me know what type of work you may consider if we did this. Pretty much would be BBQ, cars, get together type thing. I have limited space so the number of cars would have to limited also dependent on what kind of work needs to be done.

I regularly work on this platform and performance in general and have a couple coming in this week for headers and other misc. installs.

I would take advantage of this as an excuse to go ahead with headers/exhaust more than likely haha

Can't beat that deal and it sounds like a lot of fun.

On another note I swore someone asked me if I still had my old Exhaust and that they wanted a Borla. There is one for 300 plus shipping right now.

@captain_jack you start working on your midpipe yet? If not I have an idea I want to try...

The cost of a tune for the most part is independent of the parts you have. For ECUtek, expect to pay ~$600 for a license and cable and ~$250 in tuning fees. You can get by with borrowing a cable, but I would recommend buying one if you can afford it.

With a JDL header, I would strongly recommend getting a custom tune, regardless of the actual tuning solution you choose (OFT, ECUtek, BRZedit, whatever) because the JDL header will allow increases that a canned tune won't take advantage of.

I have a High Flow Catted Midpipe that I would like to install, and lifts would be helpful for the install, as would technical assistance... Depending on when this were to occur, I could have a Overpipe and Header as well to install. Living in a condo/apartment without a garage limits one's install abilities. Thanks!!
