Elliot. Seriously... I told you I was going to bed but you went on looking for a photo of a tuner saying he tunes cars. You just didn't want to let it go. Hell you sent me a photo of my own friend saying he tunes a number of platforms but didn't mention ecutek. I know he doesn't because I just tuned @Ninjin's car that a few weeks ago! I used his dyno! You constantly point out the fact that my car blew up and if I knew so much why did I let it happen. Well if you didn't keep jumping around and would sit down and think about it you would realize that ECUTek did not allow self tuning until december 17th 2013. Ask anyone in phoenix why I didn't fix my tuning problems. See what they say.
Reference: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53736 So I couldn't simply spend $900.00 and tune my own car. I contacted many tuners locally on the subject and offered to pay $2000.00 of the $7,000-10,000 licensing fee that a number of tuners were quoted. This included shops such as Goodspeed, UMS, Dynocomp, Foxbody. I told them I would pay for a significant % of the licensing up front. I was told by all of them that the platform was new so it is hard to justify paying that much for a license. There were literally no local choices whatsoever. Everyone active in the Phoenix community knows how hard I tried to find a solution to my problem. Ask anyone up here. And when my car blew up sure I did a launch screwing around that night. But my car didn't blew up until later when i was driving at partial throttle at 17AFR. The tuner said it was 100% safe at partial throttle. But in reality my car was safer above 5,000RPM WOT than below. This has been posted in numerous threads. And when it comes to bashing you are king of bashing when it comes to Vivid. All because you know everything because you bought a car there. I have asked shiv via forum, email, and phone numerous times for information and I get bullshit back. So I display I have posted publicly about it. If you recall I also tried to contact shiv when he first started out and tried to give him the source code to my own datalogging. He then bounced me around multiple times between him and his assistant and they both failed to give me straight answers. They said they had it under control many months ago and they still have yet to finish what they started when I had code for it up front. I also recommended OFT to a number of individuals locally. One of which immediately asked who to go to for custom tuning and FI tuning. I soon found out not a lot of tuners wanted to mess with it. I looked into it, tried it my self and quickly found out why. There were quiet a few reasons for this but if I go into this you will jump topics and just fight about it constantly.

You admitted that the 7k price tag came second hand from someone else. You admitted you KNEW your tune was bad but you blew up your car to help everyone. Instead of just saving the information or going else where you just went ahead and beat on your car to help others because that was your plan to build another motor. When I again pointed out the logic of having a spare motor, a motor to sell, a block to start with for building etc you ignored it. You knew long before that the car should have been waiting for a fix not taking on a driver who abused it when it was not running correctly. Once the damage is done it happens regardless of what you are doing thats just what happens. It sucks and I wish you hadn't gone through it but you made a choice I would not have. I would have stopped driving it and either removed the kit or parked it until I had a better option which apparently went from 7k to 600-900 by December and you blew it when again.... Had you just waited a little longer apparently it would have all been answered. As for Vivid, I posted quite a few forum links, specific instances over time and then my own experiences both old and new. You're right there was no foundation there just BS.... backed by other actions and personal experience more than once.... yeah totally makes sense why you jumped to that again. As for your argument on logging I already posted back before this started that I agreed ECUTek currently is better than OFT at Logging but as far as paid for programs go its no where near the top of the mountain. (Remember the points about HP Tuners and Tuner Studio?) And we both agreed on that well over a week ago when you were pushing for me to get ECUTek. I got it because I knew Shiv would tune my SC Setup but I hated leaving it to someone else. This left me in a position of do I go with someone else again or do I go with what gives me the most information to do it myself.... I will do it myself so that means I have to get an ECUTek setup for now. @captain_jack has heard me debate this with myself many times because I didn't like switching again. He has heard everything along the way and its never been Shiv is this wonderful God. In fact I have given Shiv some rough feedback at times. *Shrugs* Either way you are set on saying this is over but then suddenly the PM's like they did this morning or the posts start up again. This has been beaten to death, you threatened to block me because of it well I told you I will save you the effort and did it for you. Just let this end. As I told you I will tell everyone and sent you in a PM: "I told you last night this can get heated but it doesn't make me think you are a bad guy. I will honestly admit right now I think you're being an fool. That it seems to stem though from you genuinely wanting to help others but you involved your ego and well it went the wrong direction." Your a good guy Marin/Nelsmar and you want to help, but you don't need to force your opinion on others and bash someone else constantly to do so. Like I said if Shiv really is that bad it will come out since he is in the spot light. Everyone is noticing him right now and you either sink or swim at that point. So let it happen.

Seems like this needs to be handled 1 on 1 messaging or something. You guys work out your differences how you want but we all don't need to be a part of it.

You constantly point out the $900.00 point. Ecutek did not announce anything about self tuning until December. They did actually contact me AFTER my engine blew up to tell me that i would be able to self tune my next setup with their "upcoming announcement". You seem to know so little about this self-tune option. During the time I had a running vehicle it was quoted 7-10k, as stated many, many, many times.
And I didn't threaten to block you I simply said I am done fighting with you, I'm done disagreeing and ill just stop at this point. You kept saying things and I said i would just appreciate if you stopped as you were getting in the way of the rest of my day, and that I would not like to have to go as far to blocking you to get you to stop. The simple fact is I tell people to call me vs posting here because I know its not worth ever debating anything with you Elliot. You will do what just happened until the cows come home. In this case it came down to me saying its over, "you win, you are right on everything" just to stop the conversation. Its not worth debating with you publicly and people roll their eyes when you talk at the pavs etc. You point out people call me a drunk in defense but hey I'm a jolly drunk I tried to level you with with the vivid stuff when I met you but wow you just went so far. I eventually found an excuse to get away because you wouldn't stop rambling on about vivid.

I remember thinking the same of you about John and so forth, as well as other topics. I just accepted you had your view and I didn't share it but after a while yes I ignored you because you wouldn't stop. Given enough time your ADD would go in a new direction and the conversation was on something else. You can point back at me and say "Its all his fault" but remember this started with you and Bobby only I finally couldn't take the way you choose to attack anything or anyone thats not your way and stood up and not only said something but defended it. But this is beyond that now this is just a hurt ego, let it go. But since you are speaking for everyone here I will say this to everyone you claim dislikes me. If you don't like me, no problem. If we will not all get along, that's just a part of life. Things continue to move forward regardless of who likes who, so lets just let that happen. If you don't want to talk to me I will completely respect that.

@BobbyBlue86 If you end up ordering an OFH hit me up, I'll gladly pay for a baseline dyno of your vehicle before hand.
And regardless if you purchase or not if you still feel I am this negative horrible person you should hit me up ill buy you lunch and if you still feel that way at the end no hurt feelings. I am more than accepting to being told I'm an ass to my face, and you'll get a free dyno & lunch in the end! Win Win! Like I stated before I have been wanting to get my hands on an OFH to test my self in hopes that it actually does do well!

Yes I have done lots of concrete staining. Supermarkets, sub shops. I have done multi colored as well as refinished old, and stamped new. What questions do you have? 1. clean/etch/grind old floor depending on surface stains old coverings (paint, epoxy, gum etc). If it is new, then make sure it has cured fully. 2. choose color/colors (keep in mind it is an acid stain that reacts with all the minerals in the concrete, so it will be a bit different all over) 3. pour on floor (you can use a mop, or a paint roller) 4. let sit for spec time. 5. using a base (sodium bicarbonate, or any specified neutralizer) "stop " the reaction (a mop and bucket works great) 6.wash floor (a tiny bit of soap and water) let fully dry 7. coat with whatever coating you want (satin, gloss, whatever) to prevent fading. Not needed but looks awesome (wet look) |
