This is how open source tune development works. Early adopters deal with growing pains, but reap huge benefits down the line. By all means switch to gas for a while or try your hand at the changes that are working for others. It's all free. Enjoy it.

Can someone explain why we need to monitor IAM after flashing? Is it necessary?

Have a read here

http://www.romraider.com/forum/topic1840.html

Basicly if you IAM (ignition advance multiplier) drops rapidly and stays low it indicates significant knock is being detected and the ECU is managing the knock. Can indicate the tune (timing/fueling) is too aggressive and/or the fuel you are using is not of sufficient octane rating to handle the tune.

hope that helps (I am no expert, only have a basic grasp of it)

Hmmm....my preference is "flash and forget"....coz I simply don't want to bother about monitoring the IAM or anything else ecu/tune related once it's flashed. But it appears that this exercise is part and parcel of ecu tuning?

99.9% of our customers flash and forget. That is perfectly fine.

Hi!
If you are asking about ignition advance multiplier, then it is NOT available among G-series ROMs yet.
But we expect it in some future to be workable as Shiv promised.

This early in development it is to be expected. Down the road it is less likely, but anytime you push the envelope it is a good idea to verify. Cars are as repeatable as they've ever been but still no two are exactly alike.

I've seen about a 3 mpg drop in average fuel mileage running this tune. Just to be sure I babied it for a tank. Anybody else seeing this?

How long has it been since you flashed? It may take a bit of time for the LTFT's to adjust to conditions and if you were running rich for a portion of the tank until the ecu adjusted for it then your mpg's may suffer.

Good work man, My tables have WAY more pulse width in them.... mainly because my local station is pumping E95.............. despite it only being around 60 in the AM's here I am about 40% - 45% more pulse width than stock to get a clean 1st key start. If I splash blend it down to E80 it takes a lot less. My old station in atlanta was pumping E70ish in the winter i think...

For those that are playing with these tables, don't be scared, just add 5ms at a time to the area you start having trouble and remember the higher the E content the more pulse width is needed.

I'm going to go out on a bit of a limb and say it is likely related to the recent colder temperatures outside. As a reference, my fuel consumption averages ~30% more in winter than summer. In the -30C stuff we've been having lately it has been close to 50% more consumption.

a couple things...

1. IMO a few key turns / button presses is well worth the extra power E provides
2. Have you tested your supply of E85 to get a better idea what % they are pumping?
3. At what temp do you start having issues?
4. Download rom raider and tweak the cranking enrichment tables, add 5ms at a time in the cells at the temp you are having problems and lower.
