your iam is zero because you're trying to run 29 degrees of timing under boost. so you essentially took an na tune and are driving a supercharged car with it? please don't do that. for the children.

His IAM is at zero because IAM doesn't log on non USDM cars yet. That is not to say that he isn't running to much advance in his boost application though.

ahh yes... forgot about that one. it probably would be anyway, though fwiw. or at least real close to it. you can see it pulling a bunch of timing in all the wot runs.

Any plans to have a Valet mode map that can reduce the rev limiter and limit power. Plan on dropping car at a body shop and would not like those delinquents to be able to abuse it.

When my automatic is in gear and at a stop, the RPM sits at about 700. Which table would I change to increase the idle to 900?

You are still only able to load 2 modified files into the OFT at this time. Despite this latest OF Manager software version which shows 5 map banks. The OFT firmware is about to be updated which will allow you to load 5. But that is still a few days away. If you try to load more than 2, you will get that error code.

Shiv, the changes you made to the cranking tables are insufficient for temps below 30. 40+ cranking attempts this morning and I'm still stuck at work with no way to adjust the tables since I don't have a laptop and my computer is at home. Looks like if I can actually get this thing started I'm going back to the changes I made... at least they would get me started in 5 or less attempts.

I know this doesn't help Malt with his issue, but for everyone who hasn't gotten stuck somewhere might I suggest always keeping two tunes on your oft to avoid his situation. One you know will work safely and another that you haven't fully tested yet.

Here's a data log of a couple attempts to get cranked for those that are curious. Not sure how helpful they will be. http://www.datazap.me/u/malt/cold-st...-12-16-13?1-11 Disclosure, I make no claims as my abilities of tuning a car or even adjusting tables in these maps. These changes were the result of discussions with much more knowledgeable people than me. They were not my idea so don't give me credit. For those of you that are potentially having cold start issues like me, here is a copy of the tables I've used with success. It starts on the first try 80% of the time and on the 2nd attempt 99% of the time. These changes have worked for me for temps down to 21 degrees. Below that I have no clue and make no claims to its ability to work. ![]() Essentially its the tables used on the 1.40 E85 maps but with the 68 degree columns multiplied by 1.2, the 50 degree columns multiplied by 1.25 and everything below that multiplied by 1.3 The Fuel IPW Compensation A tables are zero'd out. Glad you got it fired up. 5 tune capacity will be extremely helpful indeed.

I'm still not sure what the issue is with cold starting and shiv's maps and why my car needs so much more fuel than his to crank. Could be I've got more ethanol in my tank than he does? During the process of trying to adjust my IPW tables I received a link to an article about flex fuel vehicles and how their injectors have heated tips and their intakes have heating elements to help alleviate the cold starting issues.
I've considered adding a gallon of 93 to the tank before I fill up next time based on some of the results I've seen with some peoples LTFT's and cold starting but I should probably test the amount of ethanol before I actually go through with this. Its not that I'm concerned with my LTFT's but the cold starting issues are annoying to say the least. |
