Hey guys!! Quick question so I have the frs whiteout. Its winter time now and was just wondering does the car have antifreeze included already or do I have to change the liquid and add antifreeze??

As mentioned, it came out of the box with anti-freeze.

You might check the level from time to time. If you feel compelled to add any, make sure it's the proper kind (see your drivers manual).

A word of warning for the uninitiated- don't put tap water or spring water in your radiator, use only distilled water, which can be purchased by the gallon in many stores. Any minerals in water added to the radiator can cause death to the aluminium radiator core- they accumulate in the small passages and reduce the rate of flow, causing overheating.

The car already has anti-freeze. DO NOT TOP OFF COOLANT WITH NON-GENUINE SUBARU COOLANT OR NON GENUINE TOYOTA BLUE COOLANT. The factory fill lasts for 11 years. It will be shortened if topped off with other coolants (Peak, Prestone, etc)

I've read the other messages in this thread, but still not sure if this is sarcasm or...? 11 years?

That's what the Manual reads.

Edit:

First Coolant Service is 11 years or 137k Miles. Whichever comes first.

It will be shortened if you mix the coolant with something else (non OEM).

Interesting. I just topped off today.. better check my coolant. Sound like if you do use other coolant it needs to be changed more often..

Here's a snap of the manual.

It says 137,500 miles OR 132 Months (11 years)

After that, replace every 72 month or 75,000 miles.
