Hm, might have to put the Raybestos on the consideration list, as I was planning on Cobalts for the next set.

Where are you getting yours from?

However, from scouring the interweb, I cannot find that Raybestos cuts this pad in the D929/D1539 backing plate (BRZ/FRS/WRX)....yet

Doesn't mean it's not doable. You'd have to call a Raybestos (or retailer) and have the compound cut for your backing plate. That's actually what we had to do with the D373 plate (CRX) when we were originally sourcing them.

Give Raybestos a call and tell them you want to try their pad and making the pads available for the BRZ/FRS/2008+ WRX would be a good business decision.

They can also get info about the power/weight/tire of your car and recommend the right compound. The ST43 might be ideal, or maybe the 45s, with 42's in the rear.

Would be nice if they price pieces that could be sold separately. Atm, only the sealed back plate catches my attention.

These weren't always this pricey - Quantum Ducts - http://www.lapponline.com/index.php?...roducts_id=186

My guess is they have something that would fit with minor modification. I believe they used to be $65 or so.

With the right plates, you should be able to put together something cheap:

Backing plates - Pre-made: ~$90ish

DIY backing plates (use flanges, cut a hole in stock dust cover -

NACA duts - $17/each - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/hre-re206/overview/

From the looks of it, you can get away with using the cheaper ducting with a lower heat rating (Routing wouldn't be extremely close to high heat) - 120" for $52 - http://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all42150

All in around $130 dollars for a DIY option.

Honestly I thought the spindle plates would be the easy part before I purchased this kit, but take a close look at the area when you get the wheel off next time; the wheel speed sensor locating and wiring makes it extremely difficult to use a typical spindle duct.

Update:

So I now have 5 total track days on this setup (TF Brake Cooling Kit, OEM rotors, Ti-shims, Hawk DTC-60 pads, Motul RBF600 Fluid), 2 days at Barber and 3 days at Sebring, and here is how everything is looking so far.

OEM dust boots still look new, OEM rotors have the normal heat checking they did after the first day, and have not developed any large cracks or delamination. DTC-60 pads are wearing about 1.5/32" a day (front) and 0.5/32" day (rear).

Don't mind the rust looking crud built up on the calipers; just a result of running race pads in the rain, and didn't bother cleaning it off yet.
