I would say that around the time the clutch starts to give is probably a good point to call it safe. I'd rather have the clutch die than the transmission.
if i'm correct this clutch can't handle more than 220 lb tq. There is obviously a relationship between boost and torque you get but i'm gonna guess around 8psi is probably ok which is why all FI kits start around 5psi to play it extra safe.

This car doesn't need more power than whatever the 5psi gives you. if you need more power you bought the wrong car.

Exactly how I feel. What's the fun when the car is already there power wise. I am tired of hearing people telling others they bought the wrong car when they want more power. The engineers knew some owners were going for more power and would test the limits. Read the AVO turbo website home page where they discuss the motor. It is a brand new design that is capable of more power than the EJs with putting the same mods to each motor for comparison.

One will NEVER be happy with their current modification status. Whether it's parts or power. Just have to appreciate where your car started to where it is now. Granted, I have only changed the badges and tinted the windows as of yesterday. Take your time and enjoy the car as time moves on!

You got it! That's why you see some older guys driving Corvettes. I have been modding my 2005 tC since it was brand new and still working on it!!

My next mod for the FRS is the clear side markers and BRZ headlamp assembly.

I agree. Anyone who says 250whp is enough for this car hasn't driven one with 250whp. It's not very fast. A lot faster than stock, sure, but not in the grand scheme of things. It's not a miata, it takes a bit of power to get this thing moving good.

I know because mine currently makes ~250whp, and its definitely not enough. Of course ymmv, you may expect less, but I was a bit underwhelmed with that level of power coming from a 260whp miata. Luckily ill be turning the boost up soon .

Exactly what I'm doing. The car will be paid off in about two years. I will give it until then to let all the FI companies come up with a reliable boosted setup. So far, the kits available seem pretty stout and well built! If they hold up like they are so far, I will be good to go! I fully plan on running 300 to the wheels on a daily driven FRS.

Any amount of whp you have as a goal will never be enough. You get used to the power, and although the car doesn't lose anything, it won't feel as fast to you.

I've had my car back for 3 weeks. 400 whp. I've already talked to LJ @FullBlown and figured out how much I need to save up to build the engine and turn up the boost.

It's a sick addiction, and I wouldn't trade it for anything
