If there is enough shaved steel in the oil to be noticed by the pump, the pump is the least of the worries. Don't take my word for it. Try a magnet plug for an oil cycle before you get the fumoto. You'll feel much better about it after that.

The fumoto makes me smile whenever I use it. Money very well spent.

I put one in my Lotus, but the plug is not exposed to the road, and protected by under body panels. I don't feel comfortable running a valve that sticks out from the skid plate on a lowered car, so I run an aftermarket magnetized plug in the twin.

Installed mine 6 years ago...0 issues. My son has one on his Veloster...0 issues and if it wasn't for the free dealership oil changes on my wife's Forester, she'd have one too.

I have one of these and it is awesome, makes oil changes extremely easy. It comes with a clip that blocks the valve from being opened, keep that on and it won’t be a problem.

Wow. They didn't have these safety clips when I bought my valves! Ordering a couple now.....

you do have a good point. TBH i have never seen any shavings on any magnet I have used in the past. I think im going to get one

I use FilterMAG's in combination with the Fumoto valves on my vehicles as an added measure.

It used to be more of a thing back in the day when engines were manufactured with less precision, cast iron blocks, blah blah...

I get it. My dad used them so I used them. You'll love the fumoto.
