How’s this for some endorsement of how the Scion FR-S handles!

While filming a commercial for the Scion FR-S recently, Scion drift driver and spokesperson Ken Gushi nearly hits a dear in his FR-S. Of course Gushi credited the FR-S’s brakes and steering prowess for avoiding the dear 🙂 The whole thing was caught on video.

Video and Gushi’s reaction INSIDE.

Preliminary details on CAN Bus for the Toyota 86 / Subaru BRZ have been discussed in the Nikkei News, a Japanese publication. The article previews that CAN Bus will allow user interfacing of data in 30+ parameters, including engine ECU data, Geo location data, yaw and g-force sensors, and chassis sensors. It will be open sourced for licensed and registered software developers and make its way to smartphone applications for social interconnections, as well as more specific uses such as tuner development, black-box loggers, and even gaming devices interfacing such as GT5 for replay and simulations.

For those not familiar, the CAN Bus may be used in vehicles to connect engine control unit and transmission, or (on a different bus) to connect the door locks, climate control, seat control, etc.

Full details and discussions INSIDE.

The BRZ / FR-S / GT86 Boxer engine dyno chart has been spotted again. We previously first saw the dyno graph as part of a GT86 feature video (which has since been removed), but the same dyno has now been officially posted, as part of Subaru’s new official BRZ website.

What does the dyno chart reveal about the FA20 engine? Very nice power delivery with an impressive flat max torque line starting right before 3000 RPM all the way until 7000 RPM (save for the slight dip, which our members have taken up to discussing HERE).

There are lots of BRZ clips and videos showing off how the car looks and sounds. There are galleries, first impression feature, etc, etc.

Have a look at the full new site and come discuss with us HERE.

Subaru has released a lengthy Subaru BRZ commercial which tries to convey the emotions that will come from owning a Subaru BRZ.

It’s part of a series of Subaru commercials called “Your Story with Subaru” and this one features an Asian drama like story between estranged father and son. We won’t spoil it for you, so view the video after the break.
