The Subaru ordering system for the BRZ sports coupe has opened as of 9AM ET this morning and many of our members have already submitted their orders.
While no BRZ pricing was made available with the opening of the order system, it’s expected very shortly (perhaps as early as tomorrow or next week). So stay tuned…

At the 2012 Detroit NAIAS last month, Scion announced a special program called “First 86.” The program gives 86 people the opportunity to be among the first to own the Scion FR-S. The selected 86 owners will take delivery of their car before it goes on-sale to the general public.
Over half of the First 86 winners are now members of FT86club – See Registry List.
As if taking delivery before the general public wasn’t enough, all winners have just been notified that they will each receive a 4-day all expense paid trip to SoCal where they will tour the Toyota Motor Sports National Headquarters and have a front row seat to Formula Drift Round 1: Streets of Long Beach and the debut of the GReddy Racing Scion FR-S drift car. Congrats again to all our winners!

Some interesting ordering and allocation info from Subarunet for the Subaru BRZ has been posted. It reads as follows:
We would like to remind Subaru dealers that SOA will be opening the Sold Order system Thursday, March 1 at 9:00 EST to accept BRZ orders.
It is important dealers fully understand the order filling process as you submit your sold orders. In summary, allocations for the 7 months May-November have been developed for each dealer. Fulfillment of a dealer’s allocation quantity will be spread basically pro-rata over the 7-month period and will not accelerate based on the number of sold orders submitted nor will it be reduced based on the number of sold orders other dealers submit. Here’s some great pics giving a behind the scenes look into the construction of the 600hp FR-S Race Car by Scion Racing and Greddy. It will compete in the 2012 Formula DRIFT series with veteran driver Ken Gushi (pictured below) behind the wheel.
We’ve also included the photos from the car’s debut at the 2012 NAIAS last month inside. Thanks to member just86.

The folks from Vorschlag and AST/Moton had a chance recently to go hands on with a Subaru BRZ, crawling under and into car and getting measurements, a good look, and a good feel for the car’s tires, suspension, interior, underhood, and more.
Check out what impressions and info they were able to garner from the experience after the jump.

Being the clever (and clearly obsessed) FR-S enthusiasts our members are, why are we not surprised that they’ve gone page source diving on the Scion FR-S website to search for the holy grail of FR-S information at this point – the 2013 Scion FR-S Pricing.
The good news is that there was indeed some prices listed in the website HTML! The bad news? Well, it seems that the prices are completely unrealistic – $15,840 for the manual FR-S and $16,640 for the automatic FR-S. Given that these prices are even lower than the Scion tC, it seems impossible that these can be even close to the actual prices.
What do we make of the prices listed in the HTML? Perhaps it’s just a random place holder figure for now, or perhaps the Scion webmaster is having some fun with us clever and obsessed FR-S enthusiasts 🙂
Update: It turns out that the webmaster was simply using the Scion xD template, which contained the 2011 xD pricing, which are exactly the same as listed in the FR-S site html.
Click through for discussions and some wild speculations!
