Tree sap on fresh wax
I waxed my car yesterday. Today I parked under a tree and find sap all over the car, some still wet (fresh) some dried to hard bits.
Any suggestions for removal without removing the wax? Or should I strip it and wax again? |

Youve got a great layer of protection for your paint; its done its job. Id strip it carefully and do another session. Did you polish and have sealant prior to?

Just a wash and I went with nufinish, which is more of a sealant wax i suppose.
This stuff: http://nufinish.com/products/car-polish What would you use to remove the sap? I'm reading about everything from orange cleaners to acetone. |

You might try clay bar before acetone

If it's only been on there a day, you should try soap first. Get to it quick enough, and you won't have to worry about stripping the polish off.
For added deep shine, I like to put a wax over a synthetic polish. It also helps protect the polish. Over that, layering a quick detail will make the wax last longer. The better your polish/wax job, the easier it is to clean things like this. |

I'll take your advice and add a wax after the recommended second nufinish coat in 30 days. |

Did you try Goo Gone to remove the sap?
