MAF placement
I'm running a MAPerformance turbo kit on my '13 frs. The UICP on this kit has the bov and maf on a straight section of pipe free of any bends. The MAF is ~ 4 inches from the throttle body and the BOV is ~ 9 inches from the throttle body (about 5 inches from the maf).
I'm working on trying to get my meth injection setup, and originally purchased one of the torque solution throttle body spacers to use as a point to mount the nozzle (it has an 1/8th npt port in it). Unfortunately the tb spacer pushed the throttle body too far forward, and the plug for the TPS sensor would hit my oil feed for the turbo (the MAPerformance kit uses a feed from the block just below the throttle body). I need another solution. How close can I position the meth nozzles to the MAF? The problem I'm having is the MAF is so close to the TB there's hardly any way to run the nozzle in there without potentially interfering with the MAF readings. I could drill and tap the nozzles 1 inch away from the MAF, towards the direction of the throttle body. Does this seem too close? If this won't work, I'll have to redesign the upper intercooler pipe.... All the info I'm finding online just says to run the meth nozzle after the MAF, it doesn't say how far away is safe.... |

why not use your TB spacer and just move the oil feed line

What other oil feed options are there? That could work if I could plug that port back up and get my feed from some place else.

Hey man I'm not sure if you have figured this out or not yet but I had the same problem using the fa20club kit upper charge pipe with my meth nozzle. It most definitely has to be after the MAF or else it will burn out quickly, I am running mine hardly an inch from my MAF and I pulled my piping back out of my coupler that connects to the TB to give a bit more room before it enters. I can send you pics tomorrow if you like, just send me a PM to remind me as I'm forgetful at work! I've had no problems with the tune or MAF as of now (8k km into turbo/meth build) knock on lots of wood! Rob.

You can tee off the factory oil pressure switch for the oil feed line. It's on the front of the block and has a stubby little sender with 1 wire on it.

I'd love to see some pics of your setup. I could get a max of 1.5 inches from the center point on the maf's actual reading point, to where the nozzles would mount post maf. |

Oh, come on, get creative. Buy a set of Crawford blocks and drill and tap them for meth port injectors.
I didn't go and look, so of course they probably aren't thick enough.
