OEM Oil Temp Sensor Location

Hey guys i was wondering if anyone knew where the stock sensor was located?
Not in terms of it's physical location but in terms of the oil flow, like is it reading the oil returning from the filter, going too or the oil that just chilling in the engine?

Based on the location and the oil lines, it looks like it reads either the temp in or out of the oil filter. OE repair manual does not show a great description, but based on the location of the sensor on the block and the oil flow diagrams it has to be either of those 2 lines.

...Yes it is? With the stock gauges no, but there is an oil temp sensor and the ECU does measure it.
