is my coolant low?

When checking cold, my coolant is 1 inch above the Low mark. Do i need to top it up more? I don't have any coolant laying around and i don't know which coolant i need to use for the BRZ. How much would it cost to buy at the dealer?

Edit: oops i meant to say the min mark of the OVERFLOW container, not the radiator. My coolant is about an inch above the min mark of the plastic overflow container.

No you're fine and dealership coolant doesen't contain fairy dust or unicorns. Canadian Tire stores etc coolant all equally as good in that respect.

Yes it does! Every molecule has a "SUBARU" stamp on them!

On a more serious note; it's because our season is changing and it's getting colder... However once you drive the car and you'll be surprised when you look under the hood, it will likely go back over the "Min" line as heat and pressure will expand the coolant.

As long as it is still above "Min" line when the car is in operating temperature, you're fine. Though adding a little more wouldn't hurt... And remember, that tank is a reservoir tank A.K.A overflow tank, most of the coolant is already in the engine/hoses, this tank is just to accommodate excess coolant when it expands and overflow.

Don't buy the green coolant. Go to Subaru and buy their super duper blue coolant costs ~$20 bucks but should last a long time. You don't want to be mixing colours as they are different albeit very minimally (additives and such).
