Just curious, why do you want to dip your car..? In my opinion, asphalt is a great color for the twins.

A quick search and you'd find the thread about plastidipped cars.
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=40680

Depends on the color you want to get dipped, lighter colors should start with a gunmetal grey base coat, others don't really need it. Plastidip is very durable when it is fully cured, there's videos on DipYourCar's channel that shows it. You'll want to build layers, the more the better.
Just watch the videos by DipYourCar on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/user/DipYourCarcom), Fonzie explains the process extremely well (if you can pay attention with his giant biceps mocking you every second).

I recommend getting it done professionally, but doing things yourself is way more personal and lets you really appreciate your work.

Due to California law, you can't get gallons shipped.
