Strange noise at 2500 RPM

I'm getting a strange grinding noise noise everytime I pass 2500RPM in any gear, is anyone else having an issue like this? it only happens between 2500-2600 RPM.

current mods are uel headers, full header back, perrin drop in and tune.

Sounds like you have an exhaust frequency at that RPM that is vibrating something like a heat shield or a loose bolt or etc. It is probably the exhaust considering that is what you changed out.

thats my guess as well. alot of people have had a problem with the heat shield over the stock muffler area.

I'm going to agree with these other genius's here. I am pretty sure it has to do with the exhaust system upgrade (a video or sound clip would help by the way). A lot of people complained about squeaks and grinds after full exhaust or catback exhaust upgrades, meaning something can take the extra vibrations or noise and just decides to rattle away. Also does this happen at a stand still in neutral? it could help you to diagnose the location of the rattle/grind. I wouldn't doubt there's a fix on here somewhere because you are not the only person with this issue. Also where exactly does the sound emanate from?
everyone on here will be sure to help you out

maybe a rattle, but i've never heard an exhaust cause anything close to what I would describe as a "grind" like OP described.

ive heard a very distinct grinding noise caused by some exhausts and the oem heat shield over the muffler. theres a youtube video of it somewhere, but im having trouble finding it.

edit: found it.

I sometimes hear a metal rattle/grind on my car (all stock) at around 1.5-2k on lower gears, but I thought maybe i'm just lugging the engine and just shift at a higher RPM now.
