Popping sound when going over bumps and sharp turns

At low speeds.

At high speeds I don’t hear anything.

Took it to a tire shop to diagnose because I thought initially that it was cv joints. They said cv joints were solid and they thought it might be a bad weld and to take it to the dealer to check out. Took it to the dealer and they said it was front right strut. I changed out both with some used ones from eBay and still get the same sound.

Any ideas?

Was thinking maybe a bushing.

May present itself more at low speeds because you're probably turning with more angle. Do you have Aftermarket wheels

do you feel any actual issues while turning or can we move this thread to the "weird noises" section? ^^

Does it sound like the sound is coming from the front or the back?

Do you have the factory suspension?

Posting a video may help us help you.

Sounds like the front. Sometimes it sounds like it’s under the dash. Could be the sound traveling through the body though. If I pull into or out of the driveway at an angle I will hear it.

All suspension parts and everything on the car was factory and I replaced the two strut/spring assemblies with factory assemblies.

I had that on my old '98 Contour. The bushings were bad but they wanted $100 to fix it and that was a nope.

I'll throw my hat into the ring of checking the bushings, but if that isn't it then try to be more specific with the sound. "Popping" is vague and given the history of people who experience weird sounds with these cars and get paranoid most people will tell you to ignore it and be happy it starts, stops, and turns.

If it is repeatable on a specific driveway or bump, film it with your phone.

was guessing either tie rod end bushing or sway bar bushings.

Pretty sure they are not loose because I tighten the end links when installing the strut assembly. At least the top nuts i’m Sure of.

If you are not sure, get underneath the vehicle safely and start pushing and pulling parts to see

Ball joint maybe? I've had the same thing happen on an older car I owned and it was one of the ball joints.

Check the tie rods as well, but I'm more inclined to think it's the ball joints.

EPS? Is it more of a rattle and only on really small bumps like road reflectors or under hard braking? My car sounds like shit because of the gear lash in the EPS. It's only $1400 for a new one. Yippeee!!
