Advice: Labor for FI and Exhaust instal

HI. I'm a total noob when it comes to cars like this and upgrade labor costs. Is $1899 labor and $1045 EcuTek custom dyno tune too much for the tune/install of these items?

E-force supercharger kit
high flow fuel pump
header
overpipe
front pipe
catback

I don't mind paying standard rate but I do mind getting raked because I don't know the business. Just want to make sure this looks right.

TIA

I think it all depends on where you are. For my supercharger kit, I was charged $1,300~ for the installation. I'm not sure about the dyno tune, though. It doesn't hurt to ask multiple shops around your area, or those you trust/ know someone who trusts them. As for the exhaust... I'd say do it yourself. It's stupidly easy and you can always rent tools from Autozone. Just need a little patience and elbow grease... for the bolts.

Fellow forum members help members too. I installed an sprintex 335 and a clutch kit for a fellow member a few months ago. Only cost him a OFT, and some pizza and beer.

Since you're a self-confessed noob and you're in Florida, stay the fuck away from FA20Club. Even if they're significantly cheaper. They're shady as fuck and will destroy your car.

Not sure about the supercharger install but custom tunes are always going to be expensive and worth every penny if the tuner is worth their weight in gold.

thanks guys. cannot thank your posts yet, don't have 10 posts or more. anyway, I am thinking about using circuit motorsports or titan motorsports, both in central FL. I just don't want to get raked or have bad work done.

Tune is actually pretty good priced imo. I paid 1100 for mine, but got to keep the hardware after. Eitherway, custom tune sounds awesome. Install for all those parts sounds damn reasonable. Avg $80 per shop hour, that's about 24 hours of work. Seems right to me.

The labor sounds pretty reasonable. If you are in Central FL check out RevWorks, great shop.

Try and do the header/overpipe/front pipe/cat back yourself or with a friend. That might save you a few hundred.

I don't have any personal experience with either, but the 2 I would be considering are Circuit and RevWorks.

That's 19-24 hours of labor depending on the shop's hourly rate ($80-100 / hour is normal). That seems a bit much for what you're having done. You can do the front pipe and catback yourself to save some money.

Need more info for the tune quote. Does your car need an EcuTek license? If so, that is $350 I think? Dyno time is generally billed by the hour, $180-200 / hour is the average I've seen. So if your car needs a license and that is included in the price, then that quote seems fair.

+1 for Circuit, I've heard good things about them. HRI Tuning (James Martin) is in southern Florida and is an excellent tuner as well.
