Looking for exhaust advice...

I have a invidia n1 and catless front pipe... I'm looking to see if anyone has the same PLUS a el or uel header? Need advice on performance... Sound isn't as much of a factor... I am intersted in buying one but I want some advice first.

Is there that much difference in the hp gain and torque dip ?

I didn't notice a difference in performance n1 vs q300. I ran both setups when NA(borla uel, perrin over pipe, invidia catless non resonate front pipe), the only difference is the N1 being way louder.

Ohh man, here we go again. Please don't take this the wrong way, but did you even try searching? This topic has been discussed so many times it's sickening...
It's too easy for people to click that "New Topic" button because they are too lazy to do a little research.

Type this in google: "site:ft86club.com EL vs UEL" and take a look around.

To generalize (note: not true in every case), EL is the way to go if you intend to do forced induction at any point, otherwise the performance gains from the header alone (UEL or EL) are fairly similar depending on brand and tune obviously.

It really comes down to your preference in sound, price and plans for the car down the road.

I know I hated to ask it lol... But I just wanted with my mods of being catless with the n1 what would be the best gains...
I also wanted a suggestion on a UEL brand or EL brand... I plan on trying to do the most mods I can to get the most hp without going FI

El or UEL headers does not really matter power wise as others have said

Best you going to do without FI and just bolt on mods is about 35-40 wheel hp over stock on E85 fuel take off 10-15 without E85 ie on petrol.

Catless EL or UEL headers
Tune
E85
Drop in filter

Don't bother with intakes stock intake with drop in filter will do.

Cheapest way

Open flash Tablet (includes tunes for petrol & E85) + openflash header and E85 tune = $1015 US (always use new gaskets for header install)
http://openflashtablet.com/products/OFH/index.html

If your after more than about 40Hp gain just go FI from the start.

Plenty of other tuning options available with proper flex fuel kit/sensors and specific dyno tune, you might get a few more hp with a personalized dyno tune as opposed to a "canned" or off the shelf tune but their is not much in it and it will be more expensive.

Thank u for the advice sir! Is there any header that u suggest more than the others...
My mods are as follows
K&N drop in
Invidia catless front pipe
Invidia n1

I don't plan on going FI because I'm buying a STI anyways again...
I am torn between the unichip and the OFT...

Pick up an overpipe because that's a bottle neck in the exhaust system as well, don't get the Invidia overpipe because it bangs against the sub frame.

Regarding headers,if money is no issue get the Tomei or the JDL Header and a tune to go along with it. If money is an issue then pickup the OFT/OFH.

I would agree with @kayoh post above.

The OFT/OFH header combo is probably the cheapest way to go as long as you like UEL header sound. They seem to be good quality units. and since its their headers they have worked the tune for them pretty well and its "free" with the OFT, they also have tunes for EL headers and E85 ect incuded

I would go the OFT or other tuning device such as ecutek/tactrix/brzedit ect that flashes a ROM to car rarther than a unichip that is a piggyback and requires wiring in. also unichips far more limited in in parameters they can alter.

It much simpler to just flash rom to stock than unwire unichip for dealer visits
