Adding sub and amp on my brz

So I bought a jl audio stealth sub and 4 channel amp for my hummer h3. Didnt replace my stock woofer on it. Thinking of putting the stealth box to my brz.
What are the things I need to get this done? Planning on doing it by myself.

Does the stock hu have preouts for the subs?

The stock headunit doesn't have preouts. You'll have to either use a line-out converter and a splice harness or maybe tap into the OEM amp.

I believe this is the type of splice harness that you're looking for:

I also just installed a stealthbox sub in my BRZ. Though I replaced the headunit at the same time so it was a little different getting the vehicle side of the harness connected up to the harness for the headunit.

I did however build something very similar to this splice harness for my wife's Outback earlier this week. I bought the male and female Metra connectors and soldered them together to make a splice harness like that. Then spliced the the line-out converter into that. Worked great. Basically it was a matter of identifying which wires were what and splicing into them to connect to the line out converter. It looks like there are some photos identifying those on the product page. In my case, it was actually printed right on the wires themselves. If I recall correctly, the wires of interest were:
RIGHT FRONT+
RIGHT FRONT-
LEFT FRONT+
LEFT FRONT-
GROUND
12V
12V SWITCHED IGNITION

But back to the topic of audio upgrades in the BRZ. Does anyone know if there a similar splice harness for the rear amplifier that powers the door speakers or what connector & pinout is used for it?

It's pretty easy to make one with the standard Metra Toyota harnesses. See the below thread.
