DIY: hard wiring gauges, radar, etc to ignition
If anyone is wondering where a power source is when you turn the ignition on, to power up gauges, radar, etc. If you take the cover around steering wheel off. The connector that goes into the wiper switch. Use the brown and striped white wire. The black wire is ground. I didnt want to get add a fuse wire to fuse panel. Trying to keep everything clean. Hope this helps someone out.

I personally think that everyone should use an "add a fuse" method when adding switched power to anything. I am not a fan of splicing OEM wires for power because it is not reversible

I didn't splice anything. I used that connector that puts 2 wires together. I do understand what your are saying it's just cleaner in my opinion.

I agree though, using add-a-fuse is better. I just wish there was a good way to keep the fuse box cover attached. |
