Is the bearing a part that can be replaced or do I have to put a whole new clutch in?

If I remember right its a son of a B to change so you may as well put a new clutch in while you are in there

@go_a_way1 usually your throw out bearing will make a noise when you do not have the clutch pressed. It will go away when the clutch is pressed. He is saying is problem occurs when the clutch is pressed down.

It could be a throw out bearing because our cars are notorious for having bad throw out bearings. Normally when you are considering a TOB change you should change the clutch as well.

Kinda hard to hear the noise in the video, but it sounds like a creaky noise? Could be your clutch fork drying out. I have the same noise, brought it in to be inspected and they ended up replacing my throw out bearing (covered under warranty). Noise is still there, but oh man the car engages so much better now. It's amazing.

Now 6 months ago, I also brought it in for a crunchy feel when I depressed the clutch and they replaced the TOB then (also under warranty), the noise went away but the car drove the same (although I wasn't complaining about any driveability issues then).

Wear headphones guys, there's clearly a whirring noise when the clutch is pushed in.

As per @MisterSheep's comment, I do not believe this is correct. If you push the clutch in the noise occurs because there is load on the TOB, releasing the pedal also relieves the load and therefore no noise.

The noise that disappears when you disengage (press in) the clutch is usually flywheel/gear rattle, which is not what this sounds like.

To the OP, as previously mentioned you have to drop the transmission in order to access the TOB in the bell hosing. This is labour intensive (about $400-600 labour alone) so most people opt to change the clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel (or resurface it at least) at the same time.

This thread is the one you want to read.

I got my TOB replaced under warranty because of that noise (rattle coming from trans area and goes away when pushed down on clutch) as well as a new trans

I tried to put captions right when the noise hits but my airbnb wifi is down and i was stuck with windows photo gallery app. I did match the volumes of the 4 clips though.

I put details in the description. I think its pretty easy to hear but i know exactly what im listening for.
