Man, if I were to win the lotto. GT-R and Corvette would be my first two cars I would buy.

THAT LOOKS FREAKIN AWESOME!

Those US or world numbers? They're higher for the twins than I thought if they're US numbers. The car is an absolute hard on joy.

Yep, Miata, s2000 and 350Z/370Z were produced for years with less volume than the twins. Mazda, Honda and Nissan can only dream about the type of success that Toyota is currently enjoying with FR-S and GT86 but Toyota is a HIGH volume carmaker. They want big numbers on all their models so it would not be a big surprise if they let the model drop after 6 years like they did the Celica GTS and the MR2 Spyder. You can also see the same pattern with the previous generations of MR2 and the Supra.

They want Corolla and Camry numbers because that is where they make their money. All the talk about injecting driving excitement and fun into their car line goes out the window when the initial sales numbers tail off.

This is not a "normal" production car that they will try to save or let go based on sales. They planned the life span of these cars before the first one ever hit the road and it would take massive shifts in numbers (either up or down) to make them change that plan.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but I still think it will be interesting what Toyota has in store for the next several years.

I don't think the car will ever be worth more than it was new, but I think it will retain its value well over time. Sure they made a lot of 86s, but a lot of people want a stock car, or close to it. That will be rare in 10 years.

Honestly no. haha I don't watch too much TV. But my Fiance's a boss when it comes to pumpkin carving which, in part, gave us the idea and being that we love the hell out of Halloween, we've decided to have a haunted wedding to celebrate the "union of our souls".

Toyota got a halo car that will provide a ready market for FT-1 sales.

Subie is doing so well that they'll be resuming Indiana production and Toyota will move Camry production back to Kentucky next year. That's when we'll know whether the sales plan will be modified to proceed with a 2nd Gen or continue on with special editions and phase out like MR2 Spyder.

Go back far enough and you will find threads just like this before the car was even released!

There are probably thousands that know from Toyota marketing right down to senior management from the place that makes the floor mats! The problem is if they leak anything they are out of a job and know it!
Hell, I am just a mid/upper manager for a couple of parts plants and I know the plans for some cars that most won't know about or see for 3 more years yet!
